Alone with Him

As i have walked on shaking knees without
His hand in mine to hold tight
His steady gaze reflected in my eyes
Comfy enough to surround me
When his strong arms are absent of embrace

I have faced my nights filled wih dreams that scare my soul
Without his rise and fall of chest
Growing easy in it's familiar rhythm
To pillow me from the cold sheets where fear lies

I have fought these things alone
And won my marathon of lonesome days
Now even the thought of waking with him
Turns the ambient fade of usual skies into crystalline spectacles of fantasy
Turns the chatter of distant voices into a windchime tinkle like song

The idea of being beside him
For just a little while
Fills me with the strength for ifinite possibility
And makes eternity seem a miraculous thing, days given to me for an endless happy time

My Own Hero

I don't need you tell me I won't win because I know in my heart I am a winner regardless.
My struggles do not define me nor do they restrict me from everything I am, but let me tell you who I am.

I am a warrior that was born to fight,

I am that woman that will work day n' night,

I am my own shoulder to cry on,

I am my own hero.

You try to put me down, but I'm still here standing.
You have tried to knock me down, but I'll always come right back up swinging so best believe this Rocky will bring the Balboa out of her.
I will never surrender and I will never give up,
I am the venomous scorpion that'll strike back if threatened,
I'm forever determined to take on my challenges and squash them.
No matter how high any mountain or how fast this crazy train goes.
Bring on the pain and I will sustain any injuries,
Bring on the fire and I will rise from the ashes like a Phoenix.
No need to depend on any knight in shiny armour to come wipe these tears away just point me to the nearest box of Kleenex and I'll move on.

I am a warrior that was born to fight,

I am that woman that will work day n' night,

I am my own shoulder to cry on,

I am my own hero.

I am not a delicate flower nor am I the average lady who sits here day in and day out as she lets herself get screwed over I have more dignity than that.
No need for the dunce hat you can wear it yourself as you were the one who played the stupid fool.
I give a middle finger to all of those who have abandoned me when I needed them most and I thank those who hate me 'cause they inspired me to do the impossible when they said I couldn't do it.
So to hell with those who've doubted me and forget those that stay in their boxes of life.

I am a warrior that was born to fight,

I am that woman that will work day n' night,

I am my own shoulder to cry on,

I am my own hero.

lonely

Do you hold on
to a dream that is broken
does your thinking
say it is not so
does the beatings rain down
from your heaven
as common sense
begins to grow
though the haze
of the pain
you are given
is it so hard
to sleep alone

It is my eyes
that tell me
you look beautiful
but my mind
insists
on knowing
what lays behind
the chemicals
that hang
from your skin

Next Perfect Lover

I search for my next perfect lover
as good as the ones that came before
so restless to find the one
I’m passionate in my varied wants
I’ve searched longer than I’ll admit
longing for the crass and for the pure
only residing in my mind
a combination that will slip away

I’ve pursued the lesser ones
put them aside after sampling the goods
when the shine rubbed off to reveal
none of the raw I longed to find below
I seem to be a broken one
longing for the same to match a set
in reality I just desire
a soul still good yet imbued to my world.

I stand here in your midst
surrounded by polite society
looking for the will-o-wisp
phantom of the dreams dark enough to please
lacking the crude I so desire
good people are the norm realized
while this is good enough for most
there is that something that I cannot resist

I’m looking the missing piece
that part that fits deep within body’s cleft
when found it will full complete
a void too large in the body and the heart
I’ll welcome the them with open arms
these I have when gaps exist that need their love
grant them admittance in the now
dual citizenship on this island of myself

I’ll find another lover
still asking for more than I will ever find
so sad I long for what could be
this fantasy possessing my every thought
the guttural fills my head
enveloping them in my lustful needs
I’ll find my next perfect lover
a combination that will slip away.

Beauty is in the Eyes

Beauty, you smile on her
with such brilliance
her face shines with compassion
love rules her gentle hands

her heart beats for her beloved
her kisses send her children
to slumber in contentment
you are beauty...beloved.

Absence Recalls

If I saw you every day
I’d take for granted your magnificence
you’d be as lovely as any day
yet I’d be blind to the grace always there
what can I do to see you more
to realize what I’ve always known?
moving closer would see to fit
“another way” says the muse of solitude

loneliness would seem extreme
as a method to then fill my life
in the moments without you there
a void is formed allowing me to see
touch would find much more to feel
your scent would conjure fragrance pure
perhaps the greatest I leave for last
the vision of a smile would transcend

I’d remember what I forgot
lack has a power few understand
in the span of separation
I am reminded of splendor’s charm
in every day the glory is lost
when loneliness is not given its due
any day has so many gifts
when absence recalls what I’ve lost.

SE7EN

Henry done a bad thing…….

Subjected to years of strife
Even though you were my wife
My last gift was this knife
Loneliness adds beauty to life

They say live your life no regrets
The pills and booze my mind forgets
In dying light my body sweats
It puts a special burn on sunsets

Never knew I read that letter
Since the knife gift I feel better
No longer am I your debtor
Makes night air smell better

STANLEY

I scrolled his page
a portrait of the man at 7
And at 17 and 57

On his way to school
Grumpier than he is now
Same framed shades

As the photo in the sun
A year of cancer took its toll
He still puffs away

Ten years more
And he'd have lived longer
Than my dad had

My face in the screen
Is my dad's and he's proud
Of me, my eyes are his

I scroll down
The nephews nieces
Cats smiling
