Poetry Contest Description
Write a poem about the members of this website.
I was going through some old poems this morning and found one I wrote a year or so ago, about a month after joining this wonderful website. It's a pretty bad poem but it got me thinking. What would your poem about DU members consist of?
A few tips:
*Include as many members as possible.
*Include known traits about them. Ex. Hemi on a yacht, Judas ranting, Mr. and Mrs. Gemini hooking up.
*Have fun but please don't have fun at anyone else's expense unless you know they have a good sense of humor.
Here's an example:
DU Dream
Last night I had a dream, no sand, no God to carry me
Nor was it an Alptraum, but a party for the DUP
A Muggle and The Mugglette worked as the M.C.’s
The third one couldn’t help them ‘cause he caught some STD’s
The place was full of “emos” and “angels” packed the room
Even Miki came, she danced there from the moon
Rachel looked just ravishing and Autumn was so fine
Before the night was over, one of them would be mine
Goodest walked into the room with six verses blazing
Wearing his frat T-shirt and ready for more hazing
Sumeet nearly bounced him but then goodest agreed
They’d sneak into the bathroom and smoke his goodest weed
Someone with a Cruel mind tried his Hand at spiking beer
It’s good no one was driving ‘cause they’d be to high to steer
Crim and I exchanged a glance, we knew this feeling well
Next morning many poets would get a little taste of hell
Poetryman and Kitty retired at half past eight
Gigi finally arrived after investigating her date
Where’s the little green man? Of him there was no sign
Carla was mingling and preaching love is blind
When I saw Sexy Red Head, my mind spun like a Tornado
Then I realized where Lep was, at the buffet eating potatoes
Heroin Chic was nodding off and committing Miss Deameanors
Indie was in a clown disguise, hoping no one there had seen her
From somewhere in the Milky Way, came an Angel we called Starlight
Like a Violet colored Firecracker, she lit up the night
Heather was upstairs in a room, acting out something erotic
Jack was in a bad mood about an “i” that wasn’t dotted
All of this for me could’ve turned into a Dark Dream
But the after party started when Devilish came on the scene
The after party was for those on the list created by Gemini
I think it goes without saying that I was the only guy
A few of these poetess’ fulfilled my every fantasy
If you want to know if you were there, you’ll have to PM me
If I left your name out or if you want to gripe
Know that this was all in fun, my twisted vision of one night.

My how faces change in a year! Written last July:
“Wow, Another (My) DUP Tribute”
http://deepundergroundpoetry.com/images/uploads/poemimages/61122.jpg
Like shooting stars driving fast cars, we spend countless hours
reading, writing, interpreting rhyme and reason in all seasons,
different deliveries of life’s great and small mysteries keeping in
touch with personal realities, explaining ourselves, others, and things
for recreational group cyber therapy, similar talents displayed on
a world stage, we click page after page after page after page
and wage love and war and really so much more, writing
cryptically, mystically, simplistically, very deeply about topical and
intimate feelings we count like sheep, some weep, some creep, we keep pace,
play with our souls to keep us sane in the insanity of all that surrounds us, no fuss,
no muss, I do confess openly, I love all of us, am I Narcissus? Certainly, not.
But, so you know, the poets below make me aglow after reading their incredible stuff,
enough diatribe, I transcribe here my thoughts for posterity:
Magdalena, in repose, Welsh Queen pens heartfelt flowing prose that reads like a sweet red rose. I know.
Soul Man is ‘da real man, enough said about his intimate soothing side, he glides like silk.
Gypsy Red, insightful, creative, impactful, a thoroughbred and very well read.
Critical Mass looks like she can some kick ass, she is so much fun, have you seen her guns?
Lepperochan may read rough and tough, but writes damn good stuff!
Rachael O. writes sassafrass, aromatic, bubbly distinct, makes one think with class.
Fcxx explodes and is on fire with her desire, her words sing like a church choir.
Everybody knows where JAITO’s head is at, not much more to say, but what the play?
Violet rocks, inks on paper, inked on skin, she plays to win, an English lady not ‘afraidy’.
Jestalessa, no lessa brilliant, writes great story lines with deep internal signs. See her medals?
Lemmy Caution covers many miles in his own style, he’s dialed. Gimme samore-get it?
Jadie Angelik is not typical, instead stoic and heroic in his own write, keep up the fight winner!
Dulcea is a panacea, plain and simple, she is in touch, gives great examples of her own long winding road song.
Drivelicious doesn’t really drivel, he spits out fire and ice on paper, reads like vapor, it lingers.
Grace has finally described her face in competition-it is Grace, a touch of truthful wisdom, no repetition.
Binalith lives in the countryside, nothing to hide, tells it like it is, realities of the woods, it’s good.
BlackVelvetRose is a bit dark, but sings like a lark, there is substance inside her mysterious ways.
Garbage may be young, but her perceptions are deeper than her peers, it is clear she is smart.
Uma (Summultima) is ethereal, real, writes like a puzzle, dazzles with Indian flair!
Kriticool is critical but cool, a real tool with sharp but insightful tips. What a trip.
Missy always has a surprise, a bit prissy? [Not! Without deep meaning.] Intriguing!
Fallen Angelist, IS a realist actually delivered by an angel during real war. Thank the Gods, she got the nod. Young lady, please give us more.
Irish Beauty comes and goes, free as the wind, disappears from time to time like fog, then returns to gives us a piece dropped on a dime, still in rhyme.
Hopingstill, a very sweet childlike aura, I really like her flowery style that comes from deep inside her, her ideas ride in simplicity with calming electricity.
Last, certainly not least, is the DU Webmistress who
speaks volumes when she doesn’t speak at all.
Visionaries have that right. She gives us the opportunity
to create with impunity, immunity, and community.
Thank you Missus, kisses in metaphor.
I know I’ve left out thousands of other talented writers,
but those above are my chosen network, I love their handiwork.
Their contributions to Deep Underground have made
my world better, feel more like a go-getter.
Though my mind blows like a raging cyclone inside, it’s
comforting to I know I am not alone and don’t have to hide.
Adios, Rock On, Cheers, Who wants to go to Tangiers?

This began while I was parted from my laptop - I did miss some of the lady poets I have had chats and comments with.
A NIGHT OUT AMONG THE DU GIRLS
Against my will I’ve been away
But now I’m coming out to play.
Poetic angels you’ve all been,
I’d hesitate to make one queen.
(When I think of my king namesake’s
Harem, I sense coming headaches!)
Your online company has been missed;
You’ll all, at least, be hugged and kissed.
LEGACY, the hairdresser fair;
Will you spruce up my wavy hair?
FLOWERGIRL, give me your best rose
To delight both the eye and nose.
Another flower, LILY MAE,
I pick up, then I’m on my way.
JOSEPHINE, I am out tonight;
Put on your glad rags and smile bright.
Ample arms of GEMINI SUB
Open up for me at the club;
A hearty, hard, healthy back slap
Is coming to you from this chap.
CHIYO, the fair German biker,
Mixes leathers and tights – like her!
From KITTY, ‘PEACE BE UNTO YOU’,
An embrace for Gentile from Jew.
KASUPUU, the black princess,
Is here, showing me more with less,
And MAGDALENA’s green Welsh eyes
And smile make a cheering surprise.
DARKEST DESIRES sports a great mane
And her own smile takes away pain.
TOMMIE LYNN, the new blonde bombshell,
Sends tremors that could ring a bell.
Bright Canadian girl LOLA
Shows sweetness like cherry cola
And a sunny, stylish manner
Last seen in Princess Diana.
JESTALESSA makes me feel snug
With warm smile and coffee mug.
TAYLOR JONES, the pleasant young mum,
Almost completes the happy sum.
When DEBORAH LEE roars, I bite;
Knowing I face a rampant night!

Here's a story about the DUP
we all walk in this hood like some super fly G's
hemi gets the girls
and jack gets the boys
devilish gets the teddy bears
"hey we don't judge about toys"
We welcome all
like small leprechauns with huge poetry balls
and indie who hugs trees and always leaves
violet who knows that "everyone has opinions and they are like assholes" you see
Atakti my tank girl who can write like a star
she also isn't stuck up like some of these poetry people are
Gemini the stud of the lot
but Mrs Gemini put that shit to a stop
Daniel can out write the entire crew
but understand him it will take up to two
turtle who hides in his shell but his writing is sexy as hell
music who plays with his saxophone and such
leave it to fucking ray who lost his clit
put it in writing bro
no one wants to see that pic
Jestalessa pretty and sweet
her voice makes a straight girl wet in her crease
strider I don't know your poetry but I do admire your forum wit
crim keeps leaving the scene
but when she returns she pours out the highest shit
Johnrot has left town
damn I hate when he's not around
Mr A reminds me of Chris issac in so many ways
and not just because of that one day
and light "what's up" my brother from another mother
your poetry is getting better then so many others
Kauuspo don't sleep on her, her words cut deep
Kaatho I wish you stayed longer to play
I could re read you words every single day
and Evan has turned over a new leaf
but he still snarls at me with his pearly white teeth
Cali is the beauty of the bunch
stay away from those beasts they verbally rape Hun
So many members so much to say
I could go on and on
but I think I'll end it with
if I forgot you
I'll write to you
and if I don't
I probably don't like you
Lol I'm kidding xoxo

What is a metaphor like
Illuminated words on screen
call out a voyage into the deep
Bags packed but baggage left behind
We see familiar faces waiting in line
Speaking of where this ship has taken us before
The ship is carved from trees
taken from highest mountains of thought
Held together with nails of truth
Forged from the fires of insight
These are the ships that are built to last
Barnacles adorn her bottom from bow to stern
From oceans traveled before
Her wood is sun aged
She has seen distant landscapes and treacherous natives
She weathered some ferocious storms
But no finer ship you will ever board
The anchor is lifted as the page is revealed
Lines pulled from the bowels of its sole
Reveal more lines and more lines after that
Lines Hoisting fabric woven from all five senses
Beautiful images fill the sails
And in every sense of the word you are moved
The course plotted years ago or recently Maybe not at all
Protected
We are just a witness to where it has been
Safely we will always return from this place
For the ship though it was all too real
No payment was required
Although the journey has left us richer for the experience
A Travelers log can be seen below as comments
All are strong ships themselves
They remind you through example
Your ship needs work
But,congratulations
you are on your way
Dedicated to all of the gemstones unearth from the deep underground
