Show me the Government
governd
Indecency comes frequently in a world of inadequacy
As we search our mirrors what images do we see
Told what to think told what to wear told how to style our hair
The government's corrupt this life is far from fair
Rules and authority are things I let elude me
I must rebel in a world what insists on stealing the honey from the bee
I will not whistle to your tune I will not stand in line
I'll live as an outcast an to me that's just fine

It Must Be Nice
I think of how it must be nice
To wake up and be healthy
And we exist so commonly
There's no sympathy
Or understanding
It must be nice knowing
You don't NEED medicine to survive
It must be nice to wake in the morning
Knowing the president's bill won't affect your life
It must be nice not worrying
Of when insurance can say no
To the disease you were born carrying
Four grand a month is just too much dough
It must be nice not contemplating
The burden you'd lay on everyone
The ones who would go in debt to help
When the money is too much for one
It must be nice to want to live
To not contemplate how you'd do it
Waiting for the day you can't afford to breathe
And refuse to die slow as their puppet
Sometimes it's nice
To distract ourselves
Helping others and doing what no one does
But it must be nice
For those who exist
Who don't greet death when they wake and still live on.

I wanted to thank all who participated in this comp! I enjoyed reading your various styles and renditions of what was requested. These are very frustrating times for every nation, so to see the diversity in these responses was very pleasing. I had many favorites and could not for the life of me choose just one! Good luck, poets!

Darkness envelops light as misery overcomes hope
these vultures feast on the flesh of the innocent
these pigs cover themselves in each other's shit.
It's a bullshit three ring system, a cache .22
Love don't live here anymore, it's just me.
Praying for the day the asteroid comes to collect us
into stardust and microscopic particles,
as if our last hope JFK shot within the scope is the pink mist.
Scapegoats and snakes, feeding on one another
for media infamously targeted insanity
Where they've confiscated our firearms, left us defenseless
too many questionable slaughters in the name of the right wing
Port Arthur massacre was an inside job, so too 9/11 an insider's dig.
as if these disgusting lavishes these pigs feast upon while the rest of us
starve, suffering in the cold rain and wind, waiting for my next dole check
I feel so exploited, a slave, just another number in the system.
Too many irregularities to believe a word of whatever the fuck they spout
measure a man's integrity, give him power, such blatant abuse
of the Original document that forged our nation in the trials of massacres
fire and brimstone, blood diluting the water, men held at gun point
while their women are raped over and over again, I am a product of genetics
the ultimate hybrid, half Templar half Shaolin, for my bloodline precedes me
and all know of the crimes of my familia, in the settlement of the bones
that lay scattered at the Police's feet, they're uniforms awash in blood-red
residue, too little too late it seems, for the Racism is Robotic,
and our Government are ruled by pigs, paid for by sheep and controlled
by blue wolves, with their equipment ready? They're strapped..

Clearly the current crop of tyrants around the globe poke into and trigger deep emotional responses - well, given the hell they mete out to ordinary people, not surprising. But still the masses remain under the thumb of vile regimes and military madness. How do so few people continue to manage to screw it up for the so many?
