a saw blade to the guts

The first time I
kissed your bleeding
knuckles,

was because you punched
a steel wall
when I called you
a liar

and I apologized
and huddled
against your
side
desperate
to feel our
languid heat
against my cheek

and we sat
here.

right the fuck here.

in the dark
sobbing
for things
we couldn't describe
and lives
we shouldn't steal

but we did

we stole those lives
stole the fuck out of them,
and lived under
warm glass against
the snow flurries

and I saw the
devastation
on a sacred space
again
and I moved
to rub your pain
across my
lips
so I could taste
the hurt

but I couldn't move,

I could not move.

I'm still rooted to the spot
with a saw blade
shattered in my guts

exactly where
you left it

exactly
where
you
left

us

resting bitch face values

You walk in
disturb me from whatever I'm doing
to ask me why I'm wearing
my "depressed face" again
like I swapped a smile and lazy bed hair
for some emo eye make up
and a hair sprayed birds nest

No matter how many times
I tell you it's my "thinking face"
or "creative processing face"
or you know, just my actual
fucking usual face
when it's existing
in it's natural state
all you see is black skies
and storm clouds
streaked with lighting
and brimming with thunder

I tell you I'm not a clown
and I won't smile just because
you want me to

My face doesn't exist
to make you comfortable
and if you find my face
so gloomily offensive
maybe you should break up with it
and go find someone who's face
is pleasant and pleasing
and doesn't look like 7 years bad luck
on a good day

You walk in
disturb me from whatever I'm doing
to ask me why I'm wearing
my "depressed face" again
and even though it's 8am
I've decided I'm gonna walk around
all day
with a frown on my face
just to piss you off

DUP Confessional 5-Fucks

Some of ya’ll
Got the nerve
To be some
Theoretical fucks
Out here, hmpf
With an interest in more than just
Gay erotica
Especially considering
You're not getting it in
Mainstream format
Anyways
Well, blow me down
(More interested in intimacy than sex)
With the confessionals
Damn near
Outpacing other writings-
Now,
Resistance is trying to
Break the habit of
Peeping the
Catch
(Feed)
Between the
Tree branches
At DUP
But quite frankly
We didn’t expect to be
Received
This well,
So thank you.

Raindrop Smiles

We walk along the promenade
While bluebirds sing a serenade
Dandelions blow in the air
Each one a wish for us to share

Weeping Willows sway on parade
Draping branches softly cascade
The sun fades gray as shadows die
Claps of thunder excite the sky

A kissing bridge arches a stream
Where kisses hold a special dream
Two lovers pause to feel the breeze
A gentle touch begs pretty please

Affections fill the hours spent
In pouring rain with lilac scent
Sweet cracks in time pull lightning through
Illuminates a breathless view

Deep puddles flood the cobblestone
Amid the ripples we lie alone
Squishy motions intensely warm
Immersed inside our private storm

Fields of tulips invite us in
Sodden petals stick to our skin
Slippery bodies tightly embrace
Our hands caress each other's face

Off daffodils rain slowly drips
A single plash against your lips
Pink hummingbirds drink from your hair
The taste of you swirls everywhere

Drenched together on love we feed
To satiate our longing need
Entwined we slide down luscious springs
Enjoying all that pleasure brings

Rainbows giggle and pirouette
Around the clouds still dripping wet
Reflections drift over the lake
Soon early dusk is ours to take

The night explodes with fireflies
Small blinking stars light up your eyes
Thin moonbeams shine in silken glass
Clear droplets bead on crystal grass

Here in my arms where you belong
As crickets play our favorite song
Tomorrow is so far away
At least for now we have today

Covered in Prose

i would love to endure your touch against my skin while the placidity of your language curl my breath just to consume desire’s head whole.

....and I wish I could taste your history beneath my tongue, relish the level of conciseness in your speech,
only to season my thirst for what you articulate in flawless and absolute ways,
ways that leave me intoxicated and wet, soaked from your pressurized rain.

i’ve craved to clutch my impressions back and slowly let your verses and verbs slide down my throat,
so I could… cling to the perfect couplet.

a superb soliloquy of you…
entrenched in the security of my intellect, ever amorous of your prose....
within me.

You have mastered the art of caressing me cognitively, molesting me mentally, while ego-stroking my emotions....

how do you do that shit?

Super

A flick of wrist
A moment of concentration
And pebbles dance
Like dangling participles

A tiny leap of imagination
And I soar to stratosphere
Caressing clouds
In starlit bliss

A casual glance
And I know hunger,
The frantic thoughts
Of passing seagulls

I lay down my pen,
Return to earth
And feel the bitterness
Of oblivious passers-by
And the inevitable invisibility
Of homelessness

Humility gifts
Superhuman sight
To see the tired and hungry
Cowering in corners

And the empathy so rare
That compels me
To open my pack
And share

That joy is truly Super

Before I Go

walking on the edge
of life and death
smiling for today
maybe not tomorrow

with each step
every breath inhaling
sweetness of living
wondering when it’s ending

knowing in my soul
days are already counted
from heavens above
for only they truly know

Angels preparing hymns
to welcome me thru heavens gates
when I leave behind
ones I’ve luved and known in time

those who have touched this life
in ways I can’t express
just hope they’ve read my words
and know they inspired me

days too short for tears
time now to leave blessings
smile with strangers and friends
perhaps make a difference

in just one more life before I go

*To my poetic Bro ~ Again*
(Wanted you to know you’re not alone in thought,
you’ve inspired my emotions deep within,
sending you luv & hugs my friend,
hope this brings you comfort that you’ve made
a difference in my life here at DU,
THANK YOU!)

Real Poets Bleed

The pure beauty amid attraction
no holding back it gives, it gives
a place where thoughts breathe
and strength and true poetry lives

It's not pretty nor perfection
word upon word, letting of soul
forgiveness, angst and freedom
captured, allowing moments feeling whole

there's happiness and sunshine
a night of fantasy for two (or more)
but mainly it's moving forward
closing shut a heavy door

heartbeats wrapped up in a blanket
slowing down one second at a time
giving life to more than perspective
a freeing of the troubled mind

I strip, you watch
you bleed, I cry
no expectations needed
just another day inside

A Poet's Power

We stitch thoughts that become fabrics of emotions
Cloaked in poetic apparel
from Tailor-made experiences
with the sweat of our pen’s brow
We Labor hard, in scorching fields of ink
Collecting melted vowels and consonants
Metamorphosis of words, burning relevance
Into the minds, hearts and souls of our audiences

We disrobe on paper and strip on stage
Wearing only words
Exposing our inkwell for all to witness
As poetry flows through our veins
Revealing personal secrets and battles scars
Coaxing us to pen our victories in beautiful bold fonts,
So others can see that giving up, is not an option.
We are strength,
courage,
hope and inspirations; in words

We arm ourselves with lethal words
Release them through our poetry
Creating abstract art; painting belief on despair’s canvas
with the brush of a poet’s soul
Molding words of motivation
Stirring passion and evoking intimacy
With ballpoint pens that drip fantasies
Our words are powerful and weapons of change

Unbeknownst to us,
we have become oracles for readers and listeners
who sit in quiet calm to read our words…
or listen attentively to the vibrations of emotions in our voice.
We touch so many....
with simple words
