New Home for DUP members

Hello everyone.

SamNash, founder of Stars Rite, and Fia (fianaturie8) have joined forces and are offering Stars Rite as a home to all DUP members.

Currently, Stars Rite is a small site, however, its platform is similar to DUP and it has the potential for growth. Sam’s site is perfect for our DUP family. It’s smaller than the larger, impersonal sites and with more members and support, the possibilities are endless.

I was going to let you know what Sam’s vision is, but it would be best if you read his own words:

“It’s what you poets and writers are going to do on Starsrite that’s what it’s all about. I’m just honored that I’m part of this group of thinkers and writers who have something to say in this world. I’m not here for the glory. I’m here to read and write and contribute along with all of you in this broken planet we live in. I hope we can all do something to fix it if maybe a little bit.”

Fia’s site, Hypo Frost Poetry, is still going to happen, but she has decided to cater to the younger generation. Fia recognizes the need for art and poetry to be in the hands of young people and she does not want this to be lost as schools are eliminating many programs designated to the arts. You can still find her magazine, “Hypo Frost,” on Stars Rite. Fia’s main focus will be the continued development of the site and she will be available to help DUP members who need assistance.

I sent many of you private messages encouraging you to join Sam’s site. Since then he has streamlined submissions. A large red tab on the main page  “Write & Publish Your Stories,” will make it easier to post your poems, stories, articles, novellas, and novels/books. You can publish a series and yes, you can even self-publish your book on Stars Rite. Please read the Terms & Conditions. While there are many similarities to DUP, extreme sexual content and pornography are not acceptable on Stars Rite. Erotica most definitely is acceptable, but we have to clean it up folks.

As you will see, Stars Rite is much more than a poetry site. It’s a way for its members to not only publish their creative ideas, it’s a way for members to develop social connection, network and foster relationships. Keep in mind, that you as the author is always the owner of all materials submitted and/or published on Stars Rite. The site is only considered the carrier of content.

Stars Rite is available to all DUP members. We are family. An eclectic band of misfits with various talents and abilities. We come as a package deal. Let’s land where we belong, Stars Rite is where writers unite.

Great news! Kristina, duende and Zazzles (Broom), adagio (Al), Lilliputian (Lilly), moony_ (moony), and ajay have joined Stars Rite and a_methyste will be joining soon.

Correction: Vision_of_Insanity’s profile name on Star’s Rite will remain the same. adagio’s profile name is now AtticusAbbey.
And 56ApacheLove (AnnaM) has already joined. My apologies for the error.

To be fair, I think we've let this thread run long enough.

I'd be wary about blindly going to any site, I'd be more wary when the person who has been actively pushing for other people to join a site, can't / won't join

even more wary that the guy who owns the site, is still a member here, has been on in the hour but hasn't once come onto this thread or any other to speak for himself


anyhow, apart from those minor details it is very much against the guidelines to promote another poetry site. given the circumstances it was kinda let slide for a bit, but come on, am I the only one who finds this a little suspect
