I've been on several writing sites over the years, and DUP is the best one I've ever been involved with. The way it is set up, the way it functions, and is maintained, is top notch. So, to those who built it, and worked at it, I congratulate you all for such an outstanding creation.
It is a stellar writing site. I guess there is no way to archive it, so that you have the craft of it saved, in case you try again, etc.

At any rate, consider your 25 years of DUP a massive success. It is still an incredible place, for two more months. And thank you for giving writers time to clean out their pages before you shut the lights off. It's appreciated. It's testament to your professionalism.
Good luck in your future quests.  This site is great for your resume'.

I don't think there is another on line writers site that is so well constructed and administered. The time and effort that went into coding and maintaining the DUP database must have been enormous .
Thank you for your work and for helping people to change themselves or save themselves by hosting their most private and sacred thoughts.
Bless you and yours.

It feels a little like the Titanic sinking. You've done a great job at maintaining the site and should be proud. Good luck to you.

DU has been my safe haven for 13 years. I've met many amazing people, made some friends, become a better writer, and pushed the limits of what I thought I could do creatively. This place has been invaluable to me, and I'm devastated that it's over, but I'm glad to have had this time. Thank you so much for creating a space for us to feel safe, and to grow as people and artists.

DUP has been my safe haven since I was thirteen years old. I've made so many friends, met so many people i've grown to know and love. This place has made me a better person, and god, I am going to miss it so much. I'm glad to have had as many years as i've had here. I'm so thankful for everyone here. I love you all. If there is another website that is being created, please PM me.

Sad to hear this. Poignantly I am due to retire from my day job end of June and was looking forward to a few more years of contributing and networking with other poets from a range of countries on this site. I have particularly enjoyed the online friendships I have made. (One poet, in Australia, has become a FB friend.)

I would appreciate knowing of a few sites I could try and move on to, primarily but not exclusively British based ones.

To Dimpsmoon. Thank you, not really a plan at the moment, the news was a bombshell this morning. I have been in DUP since 2012, during which time I moved home and also moved workplaces, and have seen many poets come and go here. (At least two passed away.) I shall be seeing which poems I want to take with me, as most have no written originals.

Dear webmiss,
Thank you for all the stirling work you have done over the years to set up and run the DUP website. I shall miss the familiar faces that pop up on my screen, and the people I interact with. But you have given us all a rare opportunity - and I am deeply grateful.
With best wishes wherever your journey takes you next,
Josh.
