"A Nothing Called Perfection"
O wretched toil to gild the flawed design
Each stroke doth mar the face I sought to mend
A ceaseless chase where sun shall ne'er align
And striving breeds but failure in the end
Mirror mocks with cruel unyielding truth
A fractured glass where dreams art rent in twain
The bloom of hope that sprung in tender youth
Now withers 'neath the weight of endless pain
O fleeting goal, dost thou not mercy keep?
Thy siren's call hath led my soul astray
Night's black shroud I wander lost and weep
For dawn doth scorn my labors lost today
Perfection thou art a cursed guise
A phantom frail that fades whene'er I near
In vain pursuit my heart is rent, it dies
Yet still I tread thy path though steep and sheer
To thee, I yield, thou cruel and fickle muse
For life doth pale beneath thy shadowed rule
O grave, receive my soul, this war I lose
Where striving brings about a bleeding fool
O wretched toil to gild the flawed design
Each stroke doth mar the face I sought to mend
A ceaseless chase where sun shall ne'er align
And striving breeds but failure in the end
Mirror mocks with cruel unyielding truth
A fractured glass where dreams art rent in twain

New year's last lest list lost lust
Next year I definetly
will try to acomplish
some dear dreams:
Buy more bubble wrap
and
Count each star in the night sky
and
Learn to converse with cats.
Learn how to juggle
and
chase butterflies in the park
and
wear mismatched socks daily.
Talk in pirate slang
and
master the art of yodeling
and
adopt an imaginary friend.
Speak only in haikus.

How long do I have to say happy new year?
I write this poem every year
I'm already sick of good cheer
Optimism is another no go
Sullen and Sulky is my usual
When I'm being a sarcastic fuck
Then you know I'm happy
I'm already sick of good cheer
Optimism is another no go
Sullen and Sulky is my usual
When I'm being a sarcastic fuck
Then you know I'm happy
