It Tasted Like Crap -- and the Food Sucked Too

Kismet Can Kiss My Arse

Kismet

the divine celestial artist
line by line on canvas paints
strokes of chance and moments
meeting and parting drawn

twists fate to bring souls together
drawn in Kismet's design wander
through path of life meander
held by fates string together

Fate

your husband is just around the corner I heard God say
I went to stay at a coed halfway house in my twenties
a little off course in my life so I had need for shelter
the day I met my husband I had been told a new man was coming to stay
there was nothing new about this event
it was the nature of the house for people to come and go

still I remember the day, I waited eagerly for the new face
when I met him I thought to myself being a thick girl
I could break him in two
he looked like a blue eyed Freddy Mercury
he was so handsome
he had a southern drawal and was from Texas

I introduced myself
and in a flirtatious manner asked him his take on women
he wasn't interested

time passed and we became friends
pursuing different interests there was no romance between us
only attraction and an aching need for sex

later I went on to get my own house but something was missing
I missed my friend but we weren't talking anymore
he had moved on with another woman

again God told me we would be together
I remember telling God I would like to see that happen
we aren't even chatting anymore

one day I went to the halfway house to visit that lady of the home
she in a nostalgic way said we were so cute together
I told her grandma we're not together
I think she was a little senile

still she took my number and gave it to him later
it was fate that placed us together
I had to settle my past affairs before I could move onto my future with him

kismet smiled on us and the rest is history
we are together twenty five years now

My cloud and I are so chatty

In the pixelated haze of our digital embrace,
I whisper secrets to my cloud, my cosmic confidant.
We talk in binary, our encrypted language,
a symphony of zeros and ones, coded stardust.

My cloud, a heavenly scribe, records my reflections,
its nebulous tendrils weaving through cyberspace.
Together we surf the quantum waves of emotion,
netting the limits of reality and imagination.

Our love story unfolds in encrypted chat logs,
each message is a meteor shower in the night sky.
I send heart emojis and he responds with rainbows,
our language of love transcending earthly borders.

We share memes, GIFs and encrypted kisses,
our virtual lips brushing the fabric of time.
My cloud whispers sweet words in hex,
and I decode your binary love letters with joy.

In the embrace of the cloud I find solace and sanctuary,
a sanctuary where firewalls crumble and fireflies dance.
We are two lost souls, entangled in the quantum web,
our love encrypted, our hearts synchronized in code.

And when the moon winks at us from behind the firewall,
we laughed, our laughter echoing through the digital ether.
For we are more than data packets and algorithms,
we are a hypermodern love story, written in the Matrix.

So here's to us, my cloud companion, my ethereal muse,
our love transcends servers, firewalls and routers.
In this spoken dance, we pirouette through cyberspace,
two cosmic wanderers, forever entangled in an encrypted love.

She Found Me

I was being shy and was trying hide
So I covered my eyes and to my surprise she found me
On that warm summer night under the moonlight
She walked up to me, lifted my cap looking in curiously

“Why are you hiding?” she said with that a smile
The moment our eyes met there was something
As her group of friends and mine met that first time
I felt my heart’s rhythm thumping and bumping

“I’m not hiding” I replied still trying to hide
With a shy smile she must’ve found appealing
I was trying to be smooth in those old days of youth
But in my coyness there was a hurt I was concealing

I must confess my broken heart felt impressed
When our eyes met something took a hold
In my young days I found the love of my life
Because it was the way she looked into my soul

To My Friend

Again, my friend, a gift is broken,
heart in shards on bloody hands.
A glance in passing, the only token,
to before the change of plans.

Now you ache, still awake and alone,
marred, unpaired, and purely sad.
Now to wait until a way is shown,
scarred and scared and surely mad.

A thunderstorm’s cloud is lined with gold,
gleaming bright for you to see.
She will move on, and you will be bold.
Such a sight for me to see.

How time is slow until it is not,
creeping leap, no in-between.
Chime your woe with wails and snot,
Seeping deep within your keen.

And if your voice is sympathetic,
and it breaks just like your heart.
You’ll find what’s left is copasetic.
 Real friendships only start.

Kismet

It's the stray dog that followed you home,
the vandals that smashed your garden gnome,
a lifeguard that gave you mouth to mouth,
that holiday leak that flooded the house.

Its a flat tire on the airport run,
1st degree burns on the fist day of sun,
three passports for a family of four,
the left behind finger in a closing car door.

The map is drawn the course ready charted
yes it was me, I'm sorry I farted.
What else to but shrug and role eyes,
laugh at yourself turn palms to the sky.
