I've always found the first of these quotes a 'so-true' guiding principle (not that I always follow it)
Regarding the second quote, as someone who builds things with nuts, bolts, metal & wood, when starting a new project I say to myself "The journey of a thousand bolts starts with a single nut" ... Here's one of the journeys:
