The Star's Bean Pot

That same old rock we once stood
the heaven of the star's bean pot
laying comatose close to my mind
in shadows of the echoing well
of memories, knocking on wood
a sweetened scent of knotty pine
in the twilight's untwisted ravel
define by the state of the tree's ascots
laying comatose close to my mind
heaven of being the star's bean pot

Gazing at the Stars

Heaven's Bean Pot
filled with many stars
as I look through my telescope
from a world quite afar.

I can see the planet Mars
and the spiraling Milky Way
the Big Dipper and the Little one
seem a million miles away.

All swimming in a sea
of sparkling midnight blue
and what should come to mind
but the evening I spent with you.

It takes me back to that night
not so very long ago
when I held you in my arms
and gazed at the stars aglow.

A Potful Of Somethings

Blessings abound
from Heaven' bean pot, but only
those marked for me.

I have reached in
and gathered handfuls
that have grown flowers
and trees, transforming
the landscape of my world.

Paint cans, spewed colors
like aqua oceans onto my walls
saying:

"Here! See, here-- the very waters that Christ walked upon!

I have taken beans
and given those blessings to others
because they were not mine to keep
but needed to pass through my hand--

"Obedience--now their garden, grows"

I have the stars at night, and
the winds by day
that carry in, camels of provision--
manna for each morning
upon dew-laden fields.

I plucked a bean called "love"
because I thought it was for me
but it withered in my hand, and
I heard the Lord say

"Love thy God with all your heart, for I am a jealous God"

But I do--can't you see all your blessings
I've planted
and tended, in your name?

I am still
a work in progress.

"Want" and "need", are different words,
different seeds
that grow different beans.

I have all I need
for each season
and the Lord wants me to love
only Him.

So be, it
and I shall not
touch again
the bean called "love".

Jackpot

numbers rolled in the dough
big one never seen before
boggles the mind
tempered the spirit

so I will buy a store
a foodcourt a laundry mart
for my brothers and sisters
and their children

for them to work on
to earn their daily bread
for I'm moving right up
with Richard Branson

I will get myself a yacht
and get myself a crew
sail the tourist routes
while having some brew

I will get myself an island
and build myself a mansion
set around it a garden
with a lovely fountain

I will set up a foundation
for all types of mammal strays
to house them until when
they get their proper homes

I will live on what is left
in the mansion with my love
books and music to salve
the ever adventurous soul

And when its time to rest
I will be buried on my island
with gardens tended
to honour my memory.

that's my heaven's bean pot

If Only Men Should Cry

In the heart of Heaven's Bean Pot, where the forest breathes,
With looming things and scented blooms, a sanctuary we'd weave.
I took her hand, led her through the thick embrace,
But in the shadows of my love, a bittersweet truth would surface.

Her laughter danced amidst the leaves, a melody so divine,
Yet in her eyes, a distant gaze, another love entwined.
She pretended, oh so well, to be in the moment with me,
But her heart whispered another's name, a love not meant to be.

The air was thick with promises, the fragrance of our dreams,
Yet, she longed for another's touch, or so it truly seemed.
I painted love with every word, my canvas woven with care,
Yet she craved a different palette, a love that wasn't there.

In Heaven's Bean Pot, where emotions intertwined,
I watched her drift away, leaving my heart behind.
A call echoed through the forest, a connection strong and true,
She left me in the thickness of my sorrow, a love that would undo.

If only men should cry, beneath the sheltering trees,
I'd let the tears flow freely, carried by the gentle breeze.
For in the depth of unrequited love, where shadows play their part,
A man's heart breaks in silence, with the echoes of a shattered heart.

Heavens Bean Pot

I strive to be productive
I aim to be busy
I need to be kind
I want to spread happiness
I will nurture my children
I can provide a safe loving space
I notice the lonely
I reach out to the sad
I will be the best version
I shall not give up
I am your port in a stormy sea
I relish the challenge
I confront adversaries
I celebrate your victories
I cry alongside you
I am filling my heavens bean pot
I hope when the time comes
Those gates will open.

After the Rain

After the rain come the pretty clear blue skies
It’s like an offering from heaven’s bean pot
It brings a breeze like a fresh breath of hope
To hearts at an impasse, in dread or naught

After the rain the ground becomes saturated
Flowers, plants and trees then begin to bear fruit
These also feed all the little creatures and animals
The ongoing cycle that stems from branch to root

After the rain sound travels crisper and richer
Carrying with it a message from the universe
Listen carefully to the reverberations of nature
As they bring promise to reverse the adverse

If you pay attention you’ll see across vast distances
The mountains and valleys and all the landscapes
Our vision becomes clearer because after the rain
Creation gives inspiration to face and accept the fates
