Poetry Contest

New Member of the Month Feature

Welcome to "New Member of the Month"!

You have 3 weeks to nominate  Your favorite poems from a NEW DUP poet - someone who has been a member for no more than six months.

To locate New Members simply click on 'Poems' > *Latest Poems > Sort Poems > New Members!

Please note the following guidelines when making nominations:

1. Self nominations are not accepted. The great majority of the competitions here are about spotlighting one's own work on a particular topic or theme.  This is a chance to nominate that poem that you wish you had written but some other great talent here beat you to it.

2. Until this comp is established, there is no limit to nominations; however, you can't nominate more than one poem per individual new member.  *****

3. No DUPLICATES. If someone nominates the same poem the entry will be deleted. If you like it that much wait and vote for it!

4. Any genre except erotica or pornography. This is a Facebook feature and we must adhere to their guidelines.

5. Any member who is banned or disables their account PRIOR to the win will be automatically disqualified.

6. One win per member per calendar year ( 12 months ).

7. All nominators should notify their nominees of nominations.

8.  PLEASE DON’T NOMINATE RECENT WINNERS ( see list below )

Any nominated member who wishes to opt out of the competition may do so by messaging me. I will contact the person who nominated you and request an alternate nomination.

Nomination Duration is 3 weeks followed by a week of site voting!

Exercise Diary Entries

1. Every time I go to the bathroom
I see that damned scale on the floor
and am tempted to weigh myself.
And every time it hits 190 pounds
I hear the doctor's voice in my head,
Have you ever tried just walking?

2. Every crunch,
every salad,
every peanut butter sandwich,
every juice cleanse,
every single thing I do
doesn't make me lose
any more weight.
So, why should I have to choose
between being obsessively healthy
and the less consistent snacks I love?

3. Every curve that hits a bone
in a perpendicular fashion
makes me want to try liposuction.
That black slip dress is supposed
to make me look thinner,
as it's my little black dress,
but all I see is a whale
suffocating in clothing
too tight for her rolls.

4. I've hated myself more
and I think it contributes
to my disorderly eating.
I think it contributes to me
throwing up my meals.
I think it will kill me one day.

5. There's nothing wrong with my body.
Maybe it's just the medicine I take
to keep my mental health stable,
and honestly I would take being fat
over killing myself any day.
Maybe it's PCOS.
I would take being fat over having no ass
or tits
or rolls to jiggle when I twerk on that dick.

6. I hated my body so much,
I considered drinking straight lemonade
for an entire day, and not eating.
Just so I could see if I lost a pound or two.
But nothing comes off, I just keep gaining,
or I stay the same.
I'm as healthy as I could be,
just no exercise.

7. You look like you gained weight.
I don't fit into mediums like I used to,
are all that run around my head.
I don't need and excuse as to why I'm a fourteen.
I don't need people to comment on my body
either.
So, fuck you
and your societal standards.
I love my ass and my hentai titties
and my boyfriend loves them too.

A Cold Rainy Night

As I sit here alone, on this cold rainy night
My mind beings to wonder, and ideas take flight.

I imagine you laying next to me
With my arms wrapped around you, I could never let free.

The thought of once again feeling your body close to mine
Produces butterflies in my stomach and up and down my spine.

Getting lost in your eyes, seems to make the time fly
Like floating up into the clouds and high past the sky.

With my head on your chest, I can hear your heart beating
Music to my ears and calmness that keeps repeating.

Pressed against mine, I can feel your soft lips
It makes me blush red, like a lunar eclipse.

As I dream of us walking with our hands locked together
Your presence warms and comforts me, even tonight in the cold rainy weather.

Fire and Rain

We're drowning
but I can't let go
I'm like a necromancer
with my hands in the past
and my heart in the future

We can't resurrect what's gone

There is value in what was
but you don't talk in my currency anymore
and I'm not afraid of being alone

We can't resurrect what's gone

Gold coins turn to brass
brass turns to ashes
and I'm tired of trying to find the fire
that's gone out

We can't resurrect what's gone

We aren't who we say we are
I'm just a pale echo of brighest the star
you claimed to see
and you're fire's been out so long
the only things still smoking
are yesterdays
when that spark was something precious

We can't resurrect what's gone

We're drowning
but I can't let go

I wish you'd let me go

We can't resurrect what's gone

Congrats Haunted_Lunacy for the win. I am so happy for you that you won this competition. I like to read poems online but I am can't read them because I have a lot of assignments to do. But now I have found the https://www.ninjaessays.com/ website through which I can take help for my essay assignment. And now I can read poems anytime I want.
