Having trouble somedays finding what to write.  So, I just look up different styles and make my words fit!  Figured it would make a fun, quick write competition.

SEEING CLEARLY (BUTTERFLY CINQUAIN)

shattered
glasses on a
stone floor among other
trinkets taken from a past life.
‘minders;
cast away by an insecure
boy, flown beyond his wings
eager to leave
this town

respite

butterfly cinquain

silence
is the recess
of the hurried spirit
if by chance it find some golden
respite
whereupon in deep reflection
it may life recover
in a world of
chaos

misread

spanish
black curls, tanned skin.
"hazel-eyed pretty boy"
troubled youth, better man now, still
halfling
tinted, hard to blend with them
white side doesn't accept
some, not fully
misjudged

Trapped in space

Father
drank the night sky,
sketched stars on my skin,
as bright as burning cigarettes.
Black holes
gave me Orion's belt and the
traces left by comets,
his atmosphere,
lifeless.

upon the wings of fortuitousness.

destined
are their two souls
found betwixt light and dark
so tender is this certainty
of fate
binded by vows of inked raw truths
sharing deep confessions
that grow these hearts
to one

Home

Beneath
the stars, our home
Secluded, small, serene
We laughed and danced on creaky boards
Before
stirrings of ill health crept, we prayed
 between Christmas and June.
 She left; we, left
 alone.

Gratitude

Breathless
Beauty wafting
Lift like a crescendo
Following an invisible,
waveform
Takes my fancy ever skywards
Halcyon days, sublime
Nature melds
As one
