I’m in the middle of a music project and I need your help, fellow poets! I have been challenged specifically to adapt another person’s poem to music. So... write me a poem!

When I'm in Love with You
I’m lying in bed sleeplessly after midnight
What else can I do when I’m in love with you?
Fantasies about you appear in my head
I’m reading your text messages on my phone
Your expressions of love gratify my heart
Thinking about you keeps me awake all night
I can’t tell the difference between dream and reality
Every minute I spend without you feels like ages
My desire increases because I’m in love with you.
I’m so impatient to take you in my arms again
I know I should get some sleep until morning,
But I grow restless when I want to see you
I’m looking back on our romantic conversations
And it feels like the night will take forever to end
It’s a wonderful feeling to be in love with you

Dont step upon the cracks
On that footpath where I walk
the pavement and the road ahead
some steps are long, some are short
I lay that map within my head
I have that crazy paving gait
the fissures black, dictate the way
malevolence, the undertow in wait
just one false step, halt that convey
No luck will ever me befall, no Holy Grail
no crock of gold on rainbows tail
just to survive and onward stroll
as Hades hands grasp at my soles
I will be attacked by trolls
writhing, screaming, none can hear
and dragged into big black potholes
no trace, as I just disappear
The devil needs new girls and boys
to dress in red and be his toys
and humour him when he gets bored
I do not lie you must take my word

You're the poem
I'm the rhyme
Divided by space and time
Just an empty pen
No words within
Words all in disarray
Surrounded by paper and daydreams
Scattered by silent screams
I can't let go of this empty pen
That will never comprehend
I'm blind, I need a sign
Blank pages that hypnotize
My desire and passion are in disguise
I'm so outta touch
Can you feel me, when It hurts this much
To overcome the rage of an abandoned page

To find the words to let you know
I need more than three words to say

Blooming Wings
Lost and only just surviving
tired and broken; hardly thriving
Reaching for something to change how I feel
finding no comfort; unable to heal
Out of darkness I have grown
blooming wings all on my own
Learning to trust and accepting fear
ghosts of the past no longer appear
Dismissing judgement from convicting eyes
with resilience I will always rise
Out of darkness I have grown
attempting flight all on my own
Embracing a life that was always mine
I am found where my soul can shine
Out of darkness I have grown
mastering flight all on my own
