Confessions Of The Heart

During this month I should be happy
But I keep going back to the fact that you're not here with me.
Everyday I should wake up ready to celebrate.
Yet everyday I've been waking up with tears running down my face.
How can I get all dolled up and party everyday?
When you weren't able to grow and stay.
This month should be full of joy
Yet I'm just missing you even more
This month would have revealed who you would have been
A boy, a girl, maybe even twins.
I wanted this month to go by smoothly
That's all just hope cause this month fooled me.
I wish things were different
I wish you could have stayed with me.

Dying Thoughts...

The mask, my face, the oxygen flows
I breathe in a cadence,
like a drum keeping time.
If the drum stops will the breathing go on?
I am now tethered to this mechanical device
providing me life like a fetus in the womb.
Where did breath go, what took it from me?
It was the virus, this virus common to all in here.
This ward is full of victims on assisted breathing
struggling to breath, struggling to stay alive
like a fish, thrown on the bank yawns ,
hoping to take in water. When will he
go motionless. When will we go motionless?
I am resigned but I’m angry at the person
who infected me. He could have prevented this
suffering. He could have protected me from him.
He could have saved my family from tears,
from loss, from regret of good byes,
from the pain of having to watch. And those
who work this mission impossible,
have to go home and weep sadly for another
loss on their watch.
He feels no guilt, no remorse, oblivious
to the massive pain and suffering he
caused through neglect and simple listening.

Under the bed...

As  a child, a ghost under the bed.
As an adult a ghost in the bed.
I lie beside a specter, in silk pajamas,
a slippery feel, yet warm to the touch.
An absence of humanity, yet pleasing
to the ear. A lack of humility, yet
appealing to the senses.
I chose to choose the undead.
A choice with the characteristics
of a corpse yet the feel of a human.
A robot, a clone of what once
passed for a person, to be cherished,
to be loved. The disembodiment
of the body, the discoloring of the
soul from white to black.
An unworldly choice, yet my choice!
Thus, unworldly meets unworldly.
I abdicate my humanity and slip
into that nether world of drifting
souls, black on black.

Beautifully Broken

The eons we've spent,
the much we've learnt
      The love we've shown,
     the pains we've known
The hook in my heart,
 the line to your heart
       The iron in my finger
   makes no one to linger

We are lost in the sea,
     and no compass with thee
If we wait a thousand year,
     will thy goal come near
      Will I be recognized
as thy dream is realized
Will I be your ex boo,
as an angel say I do

The night comes soon,
dark and less of moon
I'll cut thee off my heart,
though torn my heart apart
I'll leave this cage behind,
          and fly like my kind
    Though it may rain,
I'll cope with the pain

DEATH OF A POOR SOUL (AN ELEGY)

Life is like a blazing star
Blossom in the summer in the fall it is gone
Life is like an evening star
Shining in the evening in the morn it is gone

Should I call thee a song?
Or better, a memory of the funeral
And crying, I will hit the gong
Minding not the pains in my humeral

The lasting bond we built
Now broken in the everlasting depth
And love we thought can't tilt
Now forgotten in the coldest depth

But hush for thou liveth
Forever fresh, fresh in my memory box
And in Mem'ry lane I giveth
Way to streams from my sighting box

But can one really live again,
If one lying straight in the opening deep?
We shalt wait thee to regain
Thy breath from thy lasting sleep.

And in the new order live
Where death and its sting will forever die
and in eternal joy thrive
But for now we wait and cry

For Life is like a blazing star
Blossom in the summer in the fall it is gone
Life is like an evening star
Shining in the evening in the morn it is gone

Chained Heart

a million shattered pieces of my heart
is a million broken shards to hold
for a million years i’ve cut myself
on a million chains of old

a million times at it i’ve cried
a million attempts at it i’ve tried
a million keys don’t make the fit
a million beats already died

a million days i wonder
a million thoughts i ponder
how many numbers will i count
until this chained heart ticks no longer?

Confessions of the Heart

I took out a mortgage on love
But it fell into arrears
Nothing left to show for it
Except a heart full of tears

The pain cuts so deep
My mind's cracking up like glass
I just need to fight through this
In time it will soon pass

I thought I did right
By doing the best I can
But it seems it wasn't enough
To stop you leaving for another man

Colours turn to grey
Songs don't sound the same
Seems I'm just another loser
In love's wicked game

But I mustn't lose hope
Can't enjoy sun without rain
The future's always uncertain
Time to roll the dice again

Confessions of the Heart

Confessions of the Heart

Forgive me, Self
For I have sinned
Once again

I vowed I'd listen
To the voice inside
To stay away and from him to hide

Knowing well enough
He'd love me for the night
And make my heart melt without a fight

Forgive me, Self
For I have sinned
Once again

He made me swear
To wait for him not
But I was too torn and destraught

With tears in my eyes
I begged and pleaded
That he'd fight for us not leaving defeated

Forgive me, Self
For I have sinned
Once again

I chose not to give up
The youthful love he sparked
That night he left my heart marked

Looking back some three years prior
I wish our love came before our desire
Since now he's my heart's sire
Now I sit and wait for another to become its buyer

Forgive me, Self
For I have sinned
Once again...

It's okay my child
You were right to come to be reconciled

This is after all the hall for

Beautifully Broken

Sometimes the most beautiful people are beautifully broken
Fractured by a loving dysfunctional family Betrayed by ride or die friends
Left with damage from past lovers, such a tragedy
Through all the pain, the tears, and the scars
That radiant light inside of them remained
Reminding them of their best memoir
Helping them to become whole again
