Give Back the Land
Are the
First People
less black?
Slavery was their yoke
Yet worse
They were a Trust
of land-holders
Let them have ALL
these lands in trust,
again
They will not
betray us

The profession is a good idea, Val.
What we would LOVE to see are more of our minority members in the new thread. This includes all members who are not considered white. We understand that historically it's been difficult to discuss race relations with the majority of white people because of the potential for conflict. We understand that even with close friends it's difficult to call racism out because it's easier for you to just swallow the indignity of it rather than cause a potential wall of denial, et al.
Please, just know that there are those here willing to listen and protect your right to express yourself honestly.

Mandate of Heaven
Confucius say
solve current problems
We need ancient
wisdom today
- not old guilt
Mighty men of
darkest skins
kidnapped from
warrior tribes
Like a big “fuck you”
to Father Spirit
Later, their
fool captors
- leaving them in
white-flight
at a coward’s war
to lying, stealing
Klan-artists
who robbed
peaceful
First Nation People
Trustees of
Heaven’s Mandate
Promising those spoils
they didn’t own
40 acres and a mule
We should fight for them to see
40 acres in an American land
on African soil
A tribal trust
For their native tribes
per stolen life
and a metaphorical mule
Perhaps dual-citizenship
to get them there
...should they proclaim
their right to return

So now we're off about the Native Americans ( of which I am 1/16th, which qualifies me a member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians ). This is another example of White Fragility denying the opportunity for racial discussion surrounding the black community in the U.S. ( and/or other countries ). There are so many examples in this thread alone, and is a major deterrent of participation from our minority members ( so we've been told ). Which is exactly the intent of those diverting and deflecting from the needed discussion of this topic.
It is blatantly disrespectful to our minority members who would like a voice in this without all the conflicting bullshit.

Did you want to confront me while telling me to never respond to you - and never apologizing for any of your mistaken character-assassin comments?

why is it we cannot have a discussion about racism in its entirety. isn't it an opportunity for first nation people to stand up with the rest of the oppressed people and demand more of their own land back etc.are they not still oppressed, dont they (you) deserve a voice too.
(In general, I'm not saying the Eddibles is a native American now)
Edit:
I think, if not the short run, in the long run if only one vein of racism is takled another vein will bring it back in. that's how it works. it spreads.
absolutely look at white racism. think of some solutions.

Okay, I can speak for Native Americans from their perspective; and you are right; we are oppressed and historically have been; however, we have reservations and our own laws which protect us. The Cherokee Nation Marshal Service is a full-fledged, certified law enforcement agency with jurisdiction throughout the Cherokee Nation. The Marshal Service is cross-deputized with 50 municipal, county, state and federal agencies. With more than 30 deputy marshals, the agency focuses on prevention and justice in matters concerning criminal activities in Cherokee communities.
Black people do not have their own reservations nor protection in the form of their own laws. They are at the mercy of a white-controlled institution, of which a great many hold prejudices toward them. And whenever they do build themselves up as a successful community, white folk attack and burn it to the ground with the LEAST excuse they can find. Several example of that have been proven in this thread alone ( if you've bothered to read anything you'll know that ).
You're comparing apples and oranges, albeit out of ignorance. I get that. Believe me, the Cherokee, and most other tribes are very familiar with white ignorance in regards to not only historical facts but, well, current ones as well. Hell, we had to get a judge to force the release of stimulus money meant for tribes because it was being withheld over bullshit reasons. We got body bags instead. At least it was better than blankets.
#Blacklivesmatter needs to be resolved, then, and only THEN, can we begin to move forward in the unification and fair treatment of ALL lives. We support #Blacklivesmatter because we believe that it's the gateway resolution to all lives. If America ( and other countries ) can begin to resolve issue with action, then the rest of us have a chance too.
It's my opinion that you have a completely ulterior motive for supporting the deflections from #Blacklivesmatter that has been happening in this thread.

They should have all the land for the Reservation and hold it ALL in trust for Father Spirit and Mother Earth.
They love us! They know they are with us.

Right. But I believe in their rights, too!
Speaking of... I was kidnapped/indentured in my ancestry too. I wouldn’t mind having an Irish-American land trust for us in Ireland!

not comparing at all. I didn't think they were getting killed by the police, I think they got a bit of a beating over some pipeline. just saying it's an opportunity for them both to stand together, and have been doing in fairness. they don't have a huge voice though. the numbers are against them
just a thought is all

You're absolutely correct that when we put ourselves out there we are typically squashed; however, for the most part we are protected by our lands and laws. That is much more than the average black person out there can say, being at the mercy of the institutionalized system in both land-ownership and law.
If the Native Americans, as one of the most suppressed and smallest minorities in this country can focus on #Blacklivesmatter, then why can't whites?
