Recommend a Movie/Documentary/Show

I've been working to the ground and haven't watched much the last few days.
(My body is aching so badly right now)
But last night i did catch on Amazon a Woody Allen movie called" Irritational Man" with Joaquin Phoenix and Emma stone, i really enjoyed the story about a jaded philosophy professor and his love interest, his student Emma Stone. Typical Woody Allen premise of his movies, about life and love and coming to circle.
I don't know why, but his movies remind me so much of Anne Tyler books..the characters go around searching for something they're not even sure what, but end up coming full circle realizing (wiser, grown) what they were seeking it was always there in "the palm of their hand".
Solana,.I will check the first two recommendation. The third "one day' i have seen it, also read the book years ago when it first came out. It's a great movie of love evolving, growing, changing...:)

I had seen the book on top of NY charts for weeks way back..but never read the book. So i'm not sure how closely it follows the book but the movie itself is OUTSTANDING!! needless to say I highly recommend it.
Watched it last night! SUPERB twists, particularly at the end.

I had never heard of the painter or of the painting but after the movie I googled and read how in the fire pretty much he had lost most of his work. I love movies like this where they take a nonfictional story and weave into a fictional tale.
I did watch two movies this week and I enjoyed both.
Both on Netflix.
"Quartet" which is about a retired home for Opera singers and classical musicians. The humor, the acting and the actors were so good. I enjoyed how at that age they pretty much don't give a damn, they say what they think, they do what they please and live for the moment but at the same time even at that age, they still suffer heartbreak. It's a lovely film and worth the time to watch.
"47 Meters Down" wow what a movie!
It was so riveting, at the edge of the seat kinda movie which Johnny had recommended. I kept thinking i know the lead girl, which turned out to be Mandy Moore, I had not seen her in any recent movies and I was glad she's still acting. But the ending...ohhhh the ending...damn, i don't want to give it away but the ending.......................!!!! Very good movie, fast paced, there's something happening constantly and you wonder if they will ever make it out of there alive. Very good recommendation.

Ohhh! Layla, I actually recommended the sequel, "47 Meters Down Uncaged"! Though the first was still great - you'll definitely like the 2nd!

Historical fiction is one of my favorite genres in both movies and books, which is why I loved The Last Kingdom so much ( and so many more ).
You'll enjoy Uncaged if you enjoyed the first. Maybe you were meant to see the first one too.

If you don't mind subtitles or you speak Italian, one of my favorite films is "Cinema Paradiso." And in French, Jean de Florette, Manon du Source, My Father's Glory and My Mother's Castle. Then Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and The Three Amigos for dessert😁 Oh, we watched La Bamba the other night I'd forgotten how good it is.

Hulu : "Portrait of a Lady on Fire" - watched it yesterday, a romance in French and Italian with subtitles. I enjoyed it muchly, especially wrapping my mind around the challenges of painting from memory or live models.
