So I herd 175 million Amuricans are
going to get a stimulus check in the mail,
kids at $500, and others up to $1200.

If we assume all 175 million get $1200,
175,000,000 x 1200 = 210,000,000,000 or 210 billion.

of the 2 trillion dollars, or 2000 Billion,
reserved for the overall stimulus

The people get 210 billion,
while the corporate interests, get 1790 billion.

Corporations are getting stimulated about 8 times more than the people.

Boeing alone gets 50 billion
or the equivalent of what 41 million people will get.

Yup. Their logic is that corporations have employees that must be employed; the loans are only forgivable if they don't lay workers off.  I can see loopholes in that bigger than the Grand Canyon. . .

"The State of Florida has deemed wrestlers 'essential' workers

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis provided an odd justification for the U-turn on the athletes’ status, by announcing 'people are chomping at the bit' for new content while in lockdown. Coincidentally, WWE founders Linda and Vince McMahon donated $18.5 million to Florida the same day DeSantis signed the executive order!

The McMahons – who have a long-standing relationship with Donald Trump and the Republican party – have contracts with NBC Universal and FOX which limit the number of pre-taped shows WWE can use each year. So without fresh fights, the wrestling moguls could lose their lucrative deals

WWE gets to work, DeSantis gets the dollar, and quarantined Americans get their fix of sweaty, leather-clad men and women body-slamming each other. Who could complain?"

an article from RT

I think what we are going to see is a partisan cold war which will kill and keep killing. wouldnt be so bad if countries banned flights in from US, but I doubt that'll happen.

seems logical to me that States would coordinate their shit to save lives rather than do what they feel will please the annoying orange

I dont trust Bill Gates or his intentions. he's an American billionaire, his god is money. if mandatory vaccinations are next he will accumulate more wealth

reality is vaccinations have been used as a guise for other nefarious intent.  US military in Afghanistan used vaccinations as an opportunity to collect DNA from civilians.

way I see it, it's about trust. who can we trust. the answer, is nobody. doctors, scientists, politicians can all be bought and sold. only have to look at tobacco companies who've bought all three

where do we go from here ?

I think we need to be extra careful now. the virus itself, where it came from etc is up for debate. they say China, perhaps it was. there is no X case

The people who we are listening to, papers we read and news we watch have been lying to us throughout our lives. theres plenty of documented evidence to support that

far as I'm concerned Ike is a muppet. hes looking to make money, has been for plenty of years. personally I think he should be jailed along with everyone who's trying to make money off people's fear

I do think we should absolutely question everything. I admire Carpe and others for sticking to their guns, I do doubt the validity of a lot of the links I've watched

I think in terms of 5g :

corporations are like parasites, if you let them they will latch on and suck your money out of you. parasites need their hosts to saty alive, and the really good ones will live on the host without them knowing

anyhow, thread has been an education. good stuff

Re the Gates Foundation, the question is motivation.

The Koch brothers (I think there is only one left?) use their charitable money, as well as business profits, to fund any anti- climate change voices they can, to keep their oil money flowing without constraint.

The Gates Foundation too serves the needs of its creator. I think Bill is fully aware he is a creation of a flawed system, and is trying to ‘correct’ his legacy.

The money they spend and where and how they spend it is on the public record.

A good critical review of the foundation here. They do bring a business approach to global health, and that is not perfect, and really answer to to whims of two people (not totally true, but a reasonable thing to say)

https://newint.org/features/2012/04/01/bill-gates-charitable-giving-ethics

For me, the conspiracy here is that the poor and disadvantaged have to rely on the Gates’, who are the products of a flawed economic policy, getting (suddenly) get a conscience late in life.

This should be the responsibility of good representative government.

On that subject, I also think that this virus is hopefully bringing to a head a very high level of distrust in governments. From the Vietnam war onward the level of lies and underhandedness, back room deals, wars for oil, guns for drugs, proxy cold wars etc etc etc, and now  a range of populist and right leaning leaders had huge amounts of western democracies fed up.

That is fucking terrific. Change, political transparency, leadership that serves the people, monetary policy that serves the people...all good things.

I’m dark enough to hope some death and financial ruin will force people on to the streets to deliver a real message to government that many western democracies do not serve their people.

Real political change only happens in times of crisis.

It is not unusual to stimulate or support businesses, as one part of economic relief. See the New Deal from the US to help them out of the Great Depression. The programs focused on what historians refer to as the "3 Rs": relief for the unemployed and poor, recovery of the economy back to normal levels, and reform of the financial system to prevent a repeat depression.[1]

What is concerning in the US relief package is the deliberate removal of oversight organisations.

I also think that large businesses should sometimes be allowed to fail. If they are propped up it can’t result in what came from the banking bailouts....those people made huge amounts of money from that whole thing, which encourages them to run just as badly again...which they have!

The company I work for is getting money to help keep us afloat, due to our size as an employer. I think this is very sensible. The real answer is a range on things, not just only business, or only people, or only focusing on future works.

Thanks for the link, man. I'll watch it this evening

"The money they spend and where and how they spend it is on the public record"

I would imagine there's some kind of mechanism where the fellow could transact off the public record.  maybe not through the foundation but through other funds or the network of businesses he owns. entirely speculation though

at the start of this crisis the virus was hailed as one which threatened everyone equally no matter of status or bank account.  obviously it's not entirely correct, lots of  things to take into account.

I would call it The dolphin virus because it kills the elderly and the weakened.

its gonna be pretty grim when the financial tsunami gets here. most of us can remember the last one. I'm not sure people are going to accept cuts in wages. if anything I would imagine those in jobs which were classed essential will be expecting a pay rise

genuinely think those people deserve it. all them.

in terms of getting out. The EU came up with their strategy during the week. haven't had a chance to go through it yet

I think it might be an idea to start with schools. only because it would appear kids proving to be the least affected age. I understand opening schools would have involve adults too, so its more  a half of a thought.

fair play to NZ they've the same population as us (I think) and maybe half the fatalities.  It must be of great advantage to be in a position to govern the whole island

One government certainly makes a difference. We also have a very serious responsibility to hundreds of small pacific islands above us, which is part of why we shut so hard. They would be absolutely fucked (island I was on recently....the medical facilities were a tin shed with a bucket in it).

I removed this piece by choice
After reviewing it appears it sent the wrong message
I saw it as a reflection or a view of the future from the mind of a mid century forward thinker
In no way do i support or encourage a One World Government
Thanks to my guru i am back in check

A bright rainbow hangs in the sky, descending just over the horizon. The many people of Earth march slowly toward it, leaving behind the crumbling fist of war, oppression and international borders. Nothing less than the future is over that horizon; a future that is defined by a new world order where people are able to attain true happiness and leave behind the bleak conflicts of the early 20th century.

Whatever shape your world may take in the year 2000 A.D., we can all be fairly sure that it will be one world. Whether through war or through peace, the nations fifty years from now will have learned to enmesh their sovereignties into a single supreme authority. They will have learned to do so because, difficult as it may seem now, no other alternative exists. One world or none at all is the choice.

If we examine the hateful and (to my mind) improbable possibility of war—atomic war between the great powers—we see that one or the other side must be destroyed. The A-bomb, the guided missile, bacteria weapons, make limited wars for limited objectives impossible between great powers. These powers are too powerful, and they have weapons, which once used, would lead into a completely unknowable future. If, however, anything survived, it is certain that one power alone (either the United States or the Soviet Union) would impose its version of world order upon the ruins. That single-power world is profoundly undesirable, because civilization will have been sacrificed to attain it. Barring war then, or a great depression, we can see that the next fifty years offer a tremendous prospect— and challenge. It is a fact that by increasing our production by only a tenth above normal expectations, the U.S. can provide enough to bring every American up to minimum living standards.
argued that national sovereignty would become an antiquated notion.

This trend toward world authority will be contested bitterly for many years, because national sovereignty is something all men cling to. But sooner or later a number of overwhelming questions will impose themselves on everybody who thinks at all. Questions like these: Is national sovereignty more important than society itself? Is civilization not something bigger than either the nation or the society? When these questions are asked, over and over and over again, the tendency toward World Agreement, already strong in some areas, will become, I believe, irresistible.

Inspection and regulation of atomic energy enterprises will be established. World agreement, at top levels, will be achieved in a “crisis” — such as Berlin, Greece, or in southeast Asia — and we will have a pattern upon which, with many a failure and many a discouraging rebuff, men of good will will slowly build up and strengthen a world authority. Societies will continue to be different; nations will keep their identities in every respect, except the freedom to murder each other. The social and economic aspects of this slowly evolving process are very hard for any American, especially a Congressman, to contemplate. Whether our road lies through peace or through war, it is going to cost billions of dollars. There will be helpful factors: split-second communications, world-wide walkie-talkies perhaps, transocean facsimile newspapers, an international language, which would be of enormous aid in surmounting international barriers. There will be a helpful atmosphere, one freer of worry over cancer, tuberculosis and polio. Most important, there will be a constantly growing realization of the imperative need for a common brotherhood of man.

I dare guess that it will be peace, dangerous and difficult peace, leading at long last to a world authority for the government of international relations by controlled disarmament.

We are 20 years late, but the conversation has to start.

We are all in this lifeboat, together.

(Beautiful find this...)

How do you propose we get to this one world government.
Will the citizens have a say in its development, will they have any choice or say in the election of the ruling committee, both local and global.

How about the model this will be based on. Elegatarian, social welfare state.
Will there be Biometric tracking and a social credit scoring system.

How about those refusing to comply is that when gulags and concentration camps become acceptable. How about ostracised zones for those that don't fit in with this new world order.

What is an acceptable population model for this 1 world government, perhaps 500,000,000. Do you expect to be among those 500,000,000?

When considering new information, some questions;

- who is talking
- what are their life experience or academic credentials
- who is paying them to do the talking
- why are they taking

If the presentation suggests something that is controversial or at odds with my understanding;

- what is the counter view
- what is the relative strength of the counter view
- on ballance what is the weight of the idea vs the  counter view

These first steps help me filter out things I don’t need to waste time on. Sometimes it makes me want to listen, as the alternate view is both credible and controversial.

as a man once said
always listen
to someone
whom you consider
wrong
based on
what is the counter view is
is in it's self
closed minded

Such is life er
one dosen't  need to waste time
on things
that will upset ones comfort zone
understandable
