Secure
Golden Sol has hidden
From an angry purple-orange morn
Revealing feelings now unbidden
A love has died, but who will mourn?
He has not called
She has not spoken
Where they were, once, both enthralled
Now both of them heartbroken
Over oaths they have dissolved
Anger, like a moss, grows thick
in the damp and shade
A hearty cure for those lovesick
At least, that’s what’s displayed
They keep their wounds out of the light
Sunlight will not cure
A better treatment, dry and dark
Cold, but quite secure

I could've housed the homeless

Under Ground
I passed two women kissing
Young lovers caught in passion
A man jostled against my side
In a hurry to go anywhere
that held a more beautiful sight
than could be seen here
I think not
But I couldn't stay and gaze
I also had to go, catch my train
When I came to the platform
I passed a woman pissing
Old, drunk and stinking
Her back against the wall
Many people passed
It seemed they didn't care
And neither did I really
I took a ride on the Underground
When I stepped off the train
Going to my destination
I passed an old man crying
He held a violin and played softly
Tears rolled and beauty was born
But I couldn't stay and gaze
I had to go and catch a cab
First I placed a bill in his case
I stopped to buy a paper
And caught the sent of desire
It held me transfixed in time
I turned to search for its owner
A pretty smile and hypnotic eyes
I saw a blush flood across her face
Frozen in each other's gaze
I had no where to go now

A fragile memory on breeze of sighs.
That speaks serenely just behind the shades,
The touch of your embrace that never dies.
As I extend an offer for some tea
In Dresden cups that have seen better days,
Your wistful nod, the history of me
Becomes a part of you as it replays.
There is no reason, what we need to say,
We see it all in silence like a dream.

I skip the sugar, then stir in the cream.
To join you in a lover’s reverie,

Almost God
Tonight, I was awakened
In the parlor where I sit
On top of the baby grand,
As the chain at my neck yanked
& I blinked, dazed from the light
That brightened the wallpaper.
I looked around, bewildered
And saw the shadows I cast
Dance ‘cross the willow pattern.
And here they were, two lovers,
Poets, I’d seen before, meet
Like baby’s breath in crystal.
The two sat close, side by side
At the piano bench, bowed,
So still like a whisper, I —
And she graced the keys, singing
To him, of love & heart’s flight
In the dear light from my shade.
How honored, to be privy.
As she turned to him, he smiled
To tell her she inspires.
They noticed the light flicker.
It was me, it was my heart;
What I felt, was almost God.
