I came to this site by a deceased member. I was sad to discover her work is no where to be found. Her family discovered the site on her bank statement. They requested her du account be closed, not realizing she had written her life down through poetry. What a gift that would be to show them her work of self discovery through poetry. I would have loved to seen her writing saved by the site. Especially since she is the reason I am here.

Wow. really. That is so sad. I am glad you are here. I wish her poems were still around. That would be lovely to see and read. It would be nice to know who she was too.

well now maybe the family just wanted to close out the monthly payments since they learned of the dup thru a bank account.
plus why is my drunken jealous Aunt able to shut off me. account just cuz i dead?
as i undersood it, I am the soul person who may activate/dactivate my yaccount.

The thought of a family deactivating the account because they read a poem ( or any other reason ) they didn't like ( probably about them ) is disheartening. I'm sure there may be exceptions that others would consider valid, and that's fine. I just personally want the choice.

Closing bank accounts via a death is understandable. Hiding an artist's body of work to never been seen again is another.
While I have DUP in my list of things to do in case of tragedy, being namely my bank account to be closed out, that doesn't mean I want my body of work deactivated.
While my family would have the authority to close out my bank account, they do not have the authority to deactivate my DUP account for any reason.
Therefore, let this notice stand that in the event ( God forbid ) of some tragedy that may befall me, I hereby bequeath the management of my account / body of work to JohnnyBlaze for curatorship.
