Poetry Contest Description
Where we steal only the title to someone else's credited(!) poem, and write another poem with it
I saw a really cool title to a poem here today, didn't know the writer's work or style, but damn, that title was a good start to something. I'd love to see what you guys can do with a title you found on your rounds of wherever you go [:
But, any entry that doesn't link back to the original poem whose title was used for inspiration will be automatically ousted from the comp
Let's see if I remember how we do this...
- one month to enter
- two poem limit per author
- famous poem's titles allowed (with credit!)
I guess it wouldn't hurt to get permission if the title is from a fellow poet around here, and I'm sure they'd like to see what they've helped to inspire.... something to think about [:
Can't wait to read some of these!

Shimmering Stars (I Didn't Want To Let Go)
shimmering stars in the sky
light up the night
as I held you so tight in my arms
I didn't wanna let go
the moment that I felt you
so close to my heart
but now I see
you turn and walk away
heaven has fallen
as the stars fall all around me
shimmering stars
turn to withering flame
falling from the sky
I'm left standing
here alone feeling so cold and afraid
who's gonna stop the tears
heaven has fallen
as the stars fall all around me
I didn't wanna let go
the moment that I felt you
so close to my heart
light up the night
as I held you so tight in my arms
I didn't wanna let go

Non-Goddess-A
Yes, there are days
[some days]
that rip the rule book
clean in two
though you've
seen these hours;
you know their
language
like the time I-
[remember that time?]
said something
about heartbreak
and the heels
[oh God, the heels]
marched their way
across the wood floor
because some days
[yes, some days]
I wondered
what the journey
from A to illusive B
would feel like,
shivering in
wild hope
or if the fact
that I am woman
[at all]
gave me the right
to kneel at
your bare feet,
proclaiming myself
a God.

I do not believe you can delete a post in a comp if that is what you are trying to do, however, you can remove the poem and just leave "submission removed" or something along those lines.
Hope this helps!

The Day I Wake To Find You
Written from the otherside of the bed of Hepcat's ....
The day I wake to find you beside my naked self
Your arm's warm embrace engulfing my spirit
Your hands dead on its weight enclosing my breast
Your morning breath, heavenly faning my face
And your eyes slowly opens to find me staring
Sweet smile slowly forms both our lips
Knowing we're each other's first sight of a beautiful morn
Memories filled my mind
With our night full of love
Remembering how beautiful it was
Skin to skin, joined together as one
Each sigh, each touch, each kiss...
Felt so good, so right, so at home.
For with you, at last I found
That pull, that magic that others had
Heart-melting lava of wet insides
Longing for a throb only from your burning rod
Just like a sonnet with syllables in count
We form a world rhyming the both of us
I welcome you with legs apart
Your member so rigid, so silky and wanting
Our pores open, slippery, burning
Each contact, electrifying, satisfying
Each taste, passionately sweet, addicting
As we come to our peak, a new height starts to rise.
Starry night, cold, heat, spring rain
Everything happening all at once
Passion filled our heart with higher calling that is love
Exhausted, fullfilled, aware of what this was
As we close our eyes, our spirit soar
Knowing that tomorrow, each will still be there
Your heartbeat speaks to me as I drifted to sleep
Mine singing a sonata that only you could hear
As consciousness slowly shut down
A dim light remains at the corner
Keeping us together, even in our dreams.
We float in darkness, swimming in each other's warmth
Knowing that a new dawn would come and there would still be us
The day I wake to find you beside me, with me... Forever.
