Official DUP NAPOWRIMO (National Poetry Writing Month) 2017
April 30 ( NaPoWriMo )
Dear Kindred Writer
Perfection means there's nowhere else to go,
And if you think you've reached its lofty ranks
You'll need to daily prove as time will show.
Within our minds we hear a different song,
I'll want to dance a heady waltz with you
And twirl you off the page we stand upon.
Embrace a spell or faith, destroy a curse;
A poet writes to die and live again,
This process brought about within a verse.
It all depends on how you will express,
To be an epoch tale or senryu;
Be sure to use the form that says it best.
This humble sage to share my kindred side
With thanks I here conclude in cordial bow,
Your pen's salute & love with ink supply xo

unpacking the miscellaneous
notes and melodies of my life
Dreams of the boogie man
replaced by the broken squalls
that lathered the shores with blood
And bloated corpses
I let the too hot grits
bathing in butter and hot sauce
Cool for a minute
while my fingers tickle
Sepia toned epitaphs filling in for memories
There are plane tickets
to everywhere
Yet we reside in an abyss
Popping the bubblewrap tween my fingers
as I rewrite the melodies
the staccato makes for 13th New Year
Year of the fool
A golden one at that
Aretha sings on
My mother's songs
Are still mine
But nothing else

Hush Nature Speaks
the sunrise spoke to me
it uttered riddles
laced on spider webs
in dewy silence
the forests deep
with the wise sentient
soldiers of old
that keep watch over me
in the oceans wide
balm to my soul
a cool jeweled place
I ache now
my mind talks to Mother Moon
please tell me
the secrets of Father Sun
she smiles at me wryly
hush child and open your mind
watch and observe
each thing in nature
is a living being
all doing there part
beauty is here
the ferns cover
the mossy beds
for you to rest on
a place to lie in contemplation
nature provides for her own
listen and be nourished

die bladsye van
my gedagtes geblaai,
elke skakering van kneus
wat my storie bevlek
met herinnering in
gedigte geblooi
vir dertig dae
het ek die spoke
uit die graf van
my baarmoeder
laat asem haal
deur my pen se
grou teen my siel
{dit het ek ook
deur my gat getrek}
ek het my emosies
ontbloot aan vreemde oë,
die skeiding van myself
onder druk ondersoek
en die stukkies van my
brandsiek hart
weer by my keel
afgedruk

I mean hell, if you can write 5 QUALITY poems a day, I can write 1!!! So there was no way I could let you down.
Co_hosting with you has been one of the greatest honors of my Poetic Life, and my NaPo history. I look forward to implementing your awesome ideas in '18!
