Stoic

stratum of pleasure
deep nights
And yearning songs
in serpant melodies
about time we spent
making true love.

You make me sky
with clouds
and then thunderbolts
Lips of danger
and a mild air all alone
singing love chants.

My deep eyes may lure
the heartbeats
My sweetheart be there
I am coming to you
The next world is waiting
to make this love immortal.

The Vicissitude Of Love

Translucency of our love, morphed through eons of
treacherous storms some lucid, others ambiguous
words were merely breaths of smoke rising from
dormant oceans of volcanic ripple convoluted and
muddled, conjugating perfectly reposed strings
misconstruing language of love.

Ripeness of our flesh fed furtive whispers of
self exile, the solitude imprisoned through past walls
impairing fingers and touch; expanse of emotions
were sirens to song of death filling aspirations for
Elysian fields with hopelessness and despair
in this space of 'Us' .

The living truth of our love fragmentally premature
at birth in this breath, testimony inked on petals
shall blow on through passages of time
ashes to ashes, with our eulogy concealed in
a vessel soundless and motionless
sphering to another time re-birthed with hopes of
perpetual existence becoming entwined
in numinous divinity.

I shall be there, my love
waiting for your arrival
persevering
four seasons of weather
to be whole again
with you as one.

I used to know you
Somewhere between making bouquets of dandy lions and biking to the graveyard;
But now you're gone
And vacancy is clamping my ears with pretense
I guess you were never real anyway

Your existence
becomes undone
when you hold
the hand
of a dream
that doesn't know

Straw Man

Present at your little argument
with invitation by the Devil's Advocate,
An unwanted visitor by your measure,
beware he'll state the other case.
Here comes the Straw Man, friend to only me.
Don't be confused if I voice his concerns,
he'd have a brain to speak for himself
if it weren't full of the cherries ripe picked.

There is a gift he'll share with you,
the ability to simplify the complicated.
It is a shame that his clear constructions
are shams that damn your argument.
With his plain speech he understands
the facts much better than you can.
It is a pity there is no basis
of what he say in veracity.

Light weight creation is the key
to the Straw Man's methodology.
Too heavy and he might represent
actual truth difficult to repute.
Don't blow to hard on my friend,
he'll fold over like a blade in the wind.
This is the point you'll see!
The straw man is just a friend to me.

A frightful face he'll wear for show,
representing the worst for all to behold.
It is shame that it is a farce,
a fabrication to defeat.
He's a shape shifter of the first degree,
doppelganger of an imagined one.
The sum of evoked weasel words,
fabrication made to serve only me.

Part sham, part truth, all to confuse.
my Straw Man has taken the stage.
Best call him out before it is too late,
this is the best defense against your fate.
So now you've met your other face,
the straw man that I'll now knock down.
It is a pity that you allowed me to build
truth's sure enemy made now complete.

Theodore
I used to have an imaginary friend
who slept on the floor right next to my bed...

in case the monsters were real.

he was a bit dyslexic
and always wondered why all these signs read
" beware of god."

Loving an angel

deep brown eyes seen long ago
before the lights halo over his head
seen in a photographs of another
who walks with his wild kingdom

hair over his shoulder tied
with a bandana swept back proudly
seen long ago a wanderer who paints
colours in the wind

sounds of rustling dove wings
whiteness reflected on a window pane
tears in silence amid mocking laughter
the wind blows away dreams

whimsical moments whispered
gone like a puff of smoke.

Invisible

A person you pass by on the street
Without looking their way. They are
Another ghost. They have a heartbeat.

They are second best to the North Star,
But can be just as important and bright.
You always leave them in the car,

Lost and forgotten, even in the sunlight.
They are soft whispers and shadows.
They make you want to miss your flight

Back home. They are your light doze
And not heavy snoring. They
Are the moon and sun that rose

Up. They are people who never say
Too much because they are always
Observing. You do not pay

Much attention. They are not a blaze
Or a strong force to be reckoned
With. They rarely catch you in a daze.

They might be gone in a second
When you think they have been beckoned.

Autumn House

They rattle through the age'ed house,
The echoed calls through arteries.
The labyrinth leading from its bowels,
The iron heating in the core
Where beat its heart now long gone cold.

But as the autumn and the rain
Is rolling through and sinking in
To claim the rafters and the walls,
Was how the rattle came to be,
The autumn whistling down the halls.

But what of all the guests who stayed
When holidays would welcome them,
To sample of its luxuries?
The strolls through gardens manicured,
The games played on the emerald lawn.

Then came the evenings' dining fare
Of duck and quall and Guinea fowl,
The roasts of beef with tarragon.
The pastries afterwards with fruit,
And coffee served with crème Brule.

The old house in its heyday then,
It seems forever and a day
With no one left that lived here when,
Who told their families and their friends
To come and visit them to stay.

And so they did, they flocked to see
The regal house that seemed to have
What everybody longed to know,
The way a proper place could be
To everyone from everywhere.

But now the parties' faded charms;
The clink of crystal stemware toasts,
The lilting laugh of meeting one
Whose visit was their first time here,
Whose host would take them in their arms.

And so it was back in the day.
The swirling couples danced till dawn
As music took them by the hand
To guide them up the golden stairs
While others stayed out on the lawn.

The locals speak of times like these
And wonder where they all had gone.
Those lovers in their tux and gowns,
The lilies gilded with such care
With stickpin pearls' glint in their hair.

I too myself do often miss
When I was lulled in my first tryst.
Right there, he met me by the newel,
And found I was too young for him,
Too young for me yet to be kissed.

It comes to me in saddened veil
The reason why I came and stayed.
For suitors and their challenges
Took down the boy I stayed chaste for,
Who died but watches over me.

In stocking feet, the rooms I roam.
There's no one else who knows I'm here,
Or knows as I do where they are;
The bones that rattle from the halls,
Where we have called this house our home.

Katie

Katie was my best friend
Except she wasn't

She saved my life
Until she nearly killed me

She is so beautiful in some ways
Yet uglier than I can grasp in others

I met her a year ago
I wish I never had

She comforted me when I was low
A ploy to ensnare me

We shared a passion for music
Another trick she pulled

She took me to outer space
A charm of hers to fool you

She showed me the other side of reality
Knowing I'd never let go of it

I quickly grew tolerant of her charms
I needed more of her to get to her world

I was addicted to the experience of Katie
Despite the troubles and pains she brought me

My bladder gave out
My body caved in

The surgeon's knife beckoned
Scared, alone and facing the extraction

Bladderless, I had been without Katie for a day
I hated her for the damage she'd done

Bladderless, I was discharged
Bladderless, I went back to her

Powerless, I'll never escape her evil
She owns me and she'll never let me go
