Nasturtiums in light snow
Cold bites to my bones, stings my skin, joking
that summer was ever warm.
Beneath an iron sky, stragglers, jovial party people
linger by the cold windy door.
The warmth of their orange and red rages,
but diminished, by a light snowfall blanket.
It weighs them down,
their hot summery heads drooping under early winter’s white weight.
No cabbage white or tortoiseshell will visit these roguish
summer remnants;
the first frost will finish them soon enough—
smiting their tender leaves and stems to...

Love Lasts Forever
A cold December night
It changed his whole life
She'd not been long his wife
But in that night she died
Helpless - he stands there all alone
Lonely - a long hard way to go
When they first met the angels sang
It was love at first sight
Her lovely smile, her happiness
Will never leave his mind
He loved to dance with her
The plans they've had are over now
He can not hold his tears
He tries to go his way somehow
But he's to sad to bear
He can not forget her
In some nights he can find no sleep ...
It changed his whole life

Baby Birds Bound
Beneath the black rainbow shadows hide
in the space where dreams and fears collide.
Balls and globes, spinning in the dark,
soap bubbles reflecting a fleeting spark.
A spectrum shrouded in an eerie hue.
Unseen colors in a night’s dew.
Not ready to fly, grounded wings,
bound by the weight of untold things.
In the silence echoes of tomorrow
wrapped in a cocoon of quiet sorrow.
The black rainbow, a solemn arc,
marking paths through the uncharted dark.
Fragile hopes like bubbles rise
yet fall back not...

The First Snow
When the first snow falls
Everything becomes silent
Mother Nature purifies the land
Crystalizing life with her cold cover

They Come Back Through
a psalm for Samhain
They come back through on Halloween…
The line between the living and the dead
is frailest come evensong, when light is seen
to die beyond the farms, and bread
is broken one last time before the winter sheen
outspreads across the roof of each homestead.
They come back through on Halloween,
the sailors lost when campfires
became confused with lighthouses,
the children dead by violence,
the battle-scared and lost, all echoes of whence
we go when forced to cross the line between.
They come back...

ONE HEART (II)-(newly revised, much longer, expanded revision)
ONE HEART
BROKE SLOWLY
LIKE FALLING LEAVES
THE OTHER
SHOOK COLDLY
YET CLUNG
TO THE TREE
HERE LATE
IN THE SEASON
OF THEIR
NATURAL FALL
WITH WINTER S
DEEP CLOSURE ...

Frozen Shores of A Winter Forgotten
Upon the frozen shores of winters yore
Where Time forgetteth how to warm the earth
The winds do wail, as once they did before
Yet bring no thaw, nor touch the soil's dearth
No footstep mars the snow’s unbroken crest
Nor sound disturbs the seas of crystal still
Here winter reigneth, cold and long suppress'd
With naught but silence ‘neath its frosted will
No kindly sun doth rise to wake the morn
Nor springtide's breath to stir the lifeless air
The world, it seemeth, by all hope forlorn
In icy bonds, doth slumber long and bare ...

Have you had your break today?
A man by the name of Bruce D. Lipps was the owner of a McDonald's on the outskirts of Duluth, Minnesota.
Sometime in January 1996, he was driving North on Interstate 35 when he crashed his car.
There was a decent snowfall occurring with icy conditions.
His vehicle had crossed the median and into the southbound lanes before hitting a guardrail.
Bruce was able to climb out of the burning wreckage, pulled off all of his burning clothes and stood naked in the middle of the road.
In a matter of minutes, Bruce was run over and killed by an oncoming...

BE, IN ALL THINGS BE (Sunday, 2-16-19, 1:30pm, Palm Springs, CA, while soaking in an outdoor, 105° Spa.)
be at ease
be in peace
be in stillness
be in calm
be in joy
be in love
be in light
be in awe
be in
all things
ever one
be love
be light
be joy
be calm
be still
be ease
be all
be one
be awe
in all
things
ever one
but above
and beyond
all else
above
just be
in all
things
always
true
to yourself
then
simply
always be
the truest
one and only
one
you and you ...

like trees best in winter and,
well yes, this is as far as I’ll go with
a nod towards erotica, I like trees
without leaves and undressed

Try Again
A 51 year old Canadian man suffering from hypothermia was hospitalized in Winnipeg after he jumped from a bridge four times. Police found him leaning over the railing of the bridge. Shivering & frostbitten, as he was about to plunge into the icy waters for the fifth time.
Despite the man's obvious determination, it is unclear why he didn't try a different method after the 1st attempt failed.

A memory from 2022
Summer smiles
Warm winter wishes
My jacket was too thin.
With my trusteds by my side I float inches off the cloudlike ground.
A whisp of pleasantries.
Cold cript seals with candlelight glow; hills on fire.
This winding path leads by pedals and glory summertime dreams hopes and stories.
The pond lights up and my childlike wonder but you were there to notice.
My two friends talked as I shivered with emotion.
Quiet now, gently.
Let her down sweet.
The air of the night and the rain on the streets.
It was a warning.
Not everything...
