TEMPEST
Tempest wears itself the ir'ny
Upon my arm for all to know,
And in my hair full fast asleep.
Devil may care but I can't be
Bothered, nor will it ever show.
Tempest wears itself the ir'ny
Twisting itself cruel around me,
Pulling me under in its tow
And in my hair full fast asleep.
The eye of the storm rev'rently
I'm blinded to my ev'ry foe,
Tempest wears itself the ir'ny.
A lover's trust within my creed
When hence the pain I give is slow,
And in my hair full fast asleep
...
Upon my arm for all to know,
And in my hair full fast asleep.
Devil may care but I can't be
Bothered, nor will it ever show.
Tempest wears itself the ir'ny
Twisting itself cruel around me,

Lifescape
I walk along the shore above
a sea that storms below.
When watching how the waves
collide with sand that dreams of snow.
How those dreams are never met
when taken far away.
When dwelling over graves
I've yet to live another day.
I wear the present like a glove
yet still I'm prone to freeze.
When breathing life begins to choke
inflicting its disease.
How the silence carries me
to somewhere I'm okay.
When reaching for a ray of light
beyond a wall of gray.
I race along the shore aligning ...
a sea that storms below.
When watching how the waves
collide with sand that dreams of snow.
How those dreams are never met
when taken far away.
When dwelling over graves
I've yet to live another day.

EVERGREEN
A pine in the woods buried in cold,
nestled in sugary crystalline snow,
peeking its needles through glistening ice,
uncovered by wind-gusts
sweeping the night.
Holding beauty in circumstance
brutally fierce.
Showing strength found in roots,
where wind cannot pierce.
Enduring lifelong,
standing serene,
branching out strong,
it thrives, ever-green.
nestled in sugary crystalline snow,
peeking its needles through glistening ice,
uncovered by wind-gusts
sweeping the night.
Holding beauty in circumstance
brutally fierce.
Showing strength found in roots,
where wind cannot pierce.
Enduring lifelong,

it thrives, ever-green.

winter song
into the bright blue
into the clear light
and beyond that
into the white
into the night
she stole
to retrieve the love
she had thrown away
blown by a guiding wind
the coldness in the air
an icy compass
like
silence
after words
covering ground
in fresh snow
footsteps
sparkling winter whispers
a crystal song
singing welcome home
into the clear light
and beyond that
into the white
into the night
she stole
to retrieve the love
she had thrown away

Quiet Moments
The wind tangling itself within your long hair
And that smile etched across your face as you
Were watching the sunset, lost in a prayer.
All I could do was to look on from the pew
As this is your temple. Your laughter echoing
Down the hallways as I go after you, wishing
That you were more than a photo yellowing
And burning in my back pocket. I was fishing
For and hanging onto more than just that
One memory. I wanted a thousand more
Not fading away with your tears not flat
Against the pavement as it was all before
You...
And that smile etched across your face as you
Were watching the sunset, lost in a prayer.
All I could do was to look on from the pew
As this is your temple. Your laughter echoing
Down the hallways as I go after you, wishing

Jacarandas Genuflect as Summer Takes Its Leave
This year's long killer summer with its triple digits
Left so suddenly, followed by what I'd hoped for,
That now I find myself missing the dreaded heat
Which is so crazy, it makes no sense, don't you think?
I was confused when the scorched winds pummeled the trees,
Chasing the monsoon moisture back where it came from.
Those days had me wondering have I lost my mind.
I couldn't tell the seasons to save my poor soul;
The sweltering nights almost possessed it for good.
Now I walk in circles 'round the oak furniture, ...

That now I find myself missing the dreaded heat

box of purplish flowers
box of purplish flowers [i]
From a lovely
PURPLE flower
why have you
boxed yourself
flowers petals
fly in the wind
spread their fragrance
then spread
along the whole wide world
with the wind
they fly beyond the stem
where they would else
meet their anthem
so spread your wings
oh flowery
sis
help others enjoy
the joy of your poetry miss
even in the Niagara mist
all will love you
for your spirit
as it is singularly ...

this poem is called Crimson Rose
When The Crimson Rose Has Faded
And Our Day At Last Is Done;
In The Forest Dark And Shaded
Blows The Tempest, Dims The Sun.
When The Night Holds Us Together
Shall Forgiveness Mend The Past
Will Despair Bring Sunny Weather
And Heal Our Hearts At Last?
If We Hide Within The Shadows
Will You Stay Here Close To Me;
Will We Walk Forgotten Meadows
Or Sail A Foreign Sea?
In Vain The Hour Must Reap
What We Gathered In The Sun;
And Love's Harvest Now Will Weep
For The Battle Never Won.
Within The World's...

Lotus Leaf Meets Whispering Wind (Based on Taoist Poetry)
The lotus leaf listens- it is carried on the wind.
The wind cradles the lotus, and the lotus bends.
For the lotus listens, as it is carried high and low,
Yet, the wind merely cradles, soft and slow.
The lotus will wither in winter,
And the wind will mourn its loss,
Of a dearly beloved friend,
Laid to rest in frost.
But the wind will not surrender
In his search for better days
For the frost is not forever
Soon spring will melt its glaze.
The wind whispers
Calling out to lotus leaf
And the lotus leaf listens--
Ending all...
The wind cradles the lotus, and the lotus bends.
For the lotus listens, as it is carried high and low,
Yet, the wind merely cradles, soft and slow.
The lotus will wither in winter,
And the wind will mourn its loss,
Of a dearly beloved friend,
Laid to rest in frost.
But the wind will not surrender
In his search for better days
For the frost is not forever
Soon spring will melt its glaze.
The wind whispers
Calling out to lotus leaf
And the lotus leaf listens--
Ending all...
