Those that stand the tallest here, this world will cause to fall
Taranis chose the fallen night to split the hour that often softens,
Imposing pressure, caressing me, lulling me to feel the call.
Quietly then, he seemed to sigh, soothing me to nurture caution -
‘Those that stand the tallest here, this world will cause to fall’.
Splintered bark, the yawling growl announcing union overlooked,
How slicing struck the scolding grip, splitting, spitting slivered gleams,
Who can trace this instance’ source, now envoy of this stark rebuke,
Or is it invitation only, this sudden thrust to the mouldered dream?
How...

Trees
In green forests of solitude and isolation
When thoughts were so hard to get on
A tree, glistening, raining
Silently, in the dark
Sunlight captures it
Framing beauty
into essence privately seen
In those mere moments
Tempted to defy it,
In worlds that have seemed so cruel
In green forests of solitude and isolation
When thoughts were so hard to get on
A tree, glistening, raining
Silently, in the dark
Sunlight captures it
Framing beauty
into essence privately seen
In those mere moments
Tempted to defy it,
In worlds that have seemed so cruel
In green forests of solitude and isolation

Autumn Ecstasy
The surface of the stream possessed
an alien green glow.
From the reflection of vanishing trees
that anticipate snow.
Water cascading over slate rock
with a natural rush of glorious sound.
The water, a liquid ecstasy
free falling unbound.
The stream was in an
encompassing bliss.
To even find beauty
in the bold leaf carcass's.

story for October
today skip over the spirits that grip
spit and rise twist the blade and I'm off
sulking in the background is a disturbance
sticking in my mind the beautiful trees
the orchard inviting sings to me
soon I am daydreaming
then I feel someone watching my reverie
reaching for my knife
practicing unsheathing it quickly
with a flick of the rist
an old grand dad
waiting for skin
somewhere in time my soul remembers
hand to hand combat
with a ready nod I let the trees know
should he approach
I'll go down on...

Aromatize
Shrivel and plummet, leaf and frond,
beneath the charging clouds that blow
through the cerulean cold beyond
the broken nimbostratus glow...
splitting the wanton solar ray
to multitudinous pallid shades
harnessing nature's neutral gray
for autumn glory promenades
in conference with the conifer
and its windfall eau de cologne
in all the places it will occur
from needles to the lonely cone
or the broadleaf equivalent
from the vine maple, or the oak,
where...

A Gentle Wink
..of yesterday's memories in verse
with a symphony of leaves falling
running through the woods
Autumn arrives shedding sleeves
evoke a sense of longing gone by
eloping into the air with a gentle wink
to embrace nature's release

Tree Tops and AI
moment to moment
in the shadows today
quietly listening to nature sing and grieve
things are swiftly changing
sometime my mind reels
seventies child...windy
watching the leaves silently sing
feeling the era
summer days were long
neighborhood children making up their own games outdoors
shaded afternoons up a tree dreaming
creating my own worlds
my favorite tree my protector
green my favored company
bike rides dreaming of the life I would like
and when my garden dream house would...

Forest Sanctum
The death of Summer
Brings about new life
The vibrant colors of Autumn
Restore my mental clarity
In this otherwise grey existence.
Fingertips gently trailing in the water
Laying near the picturesque pond
Listening to the birds call.
Hearken to Autumn's sweet voice
Discern her beauty from the darkness
Of Winter.
The leaves rustling in the wind
Dying
Not living to see another day.
This is my sanctum.
The equinox approaches
So does Death....

Natural Delight
Natural Delight
Some natural gifts in my inborn flair
'bout mundane life, not the more i care
Societal games, bustling agora sites
Loveless feel for the bright city lights
Praising a stroll somewhere in the field
In the mead, not before a screen shield
Where bleat and moo make the book i read
Where shepherd and mountain take the lead
My feelings flame at morning dripping dew
At chirping bird with dawn wakes up, anew
And riparian walk by a trickling stream
Time is water...

Picture Texas
Texas Bluebonnet you fill my horizon like the sea.
As you dance and sway in the cool spring breeze.
Mockingbirds sing and woodpeckers peck.
As the horn toad lizard scurries for ants.
Banana spiders weave and cicadas that chirp.
Wild blackberries that taste so delicious it hurts.
Choices of oak, pecan or mesquite as firewood to barbecue meat.
These are just some of the joys that I see.
When I stop and glance at the things around me.
As you dance and sway in the cool spring breeze.
Mockingbirds sing and woodpeckers peck.

i want
to use
her bones
like trees
and build
my house,
squares
of sky
will be
placed
into walls
for windows,
her earth
will help
protect
and cover
my roof,
and my
doors
will always
be open
for her.

Autumn
On a cold,autumn day.
Leaves fall and dance the day away.
Like ballerinas up in the sky.
They fly and crunch under your feet.
And their grace is what you meet.
You go onto the bench,on your seat.
With leaves crunching under your feet.
While the other leaves fly.
And they dance in the sky like ballerinas.
Only to fall onto the ground.
They sway like dancers on the cold, autumn ground.
Maybe just one cold,autumn day.
You'll join them and dance the day away.
Leading to a starry night.
With no leaves left...
