When the great flood came
I could have sworn
I was faithful to you

But when the great flood came

Now the water is rising past my neck

A Few Tornadoes
A Few Tornadoes
It seems
only a matter
of some discussion
before the wires
are crossed,
and,
at
that
point,
beyond which
memory
can hold its head up,
resilient winds
can bare
withstand the charms
of those
wobegone days
in a few tornadoes.
Our losses then
make all the more
this rarer field,
these fireflies
and
daily shield.
It seems
only a matter
of some discussion
