Summer Poems
#summer
Summer poems about the warmest season of the year, June to August in the northern hemisphere and December to February in the southern hemisphere. Summer brings the longest days, where things heat up with summer fun, and nature is in full bloom.
No Title.
So, I take my bones to a dirty grave,
Because maybe dying is better,
Then bleeding in a sweater.
Middle of the summer,
In this hot weather.
Because maybe dying is better,
Then bleeding in a sweater.
Middle of the summer,
In this hot weather.

Hope In Brooklyn
Sigh
It is simply amazing how
This weekend has left me so weakened
Girlie is still hazed from those Brooklyn days and
Those hard driven nights
I remembered him
Whispering how tight I was as he curved
Down my cervix
Demanding more service
God!!!
He was so full of aggression and affection
I loved he way he harmonized me
Like his favorite instrument hidden underneath his bed
Pulled out only for moments like this
Mmmmm
The man strummed me, hummed the hedonistic...

drifting (my favorite season)
how these
seasons
drifting,
each tied
but break
apart,
i glimpse
asking
towards
what
remains
unfolding,
i'm halted
when each
season's
beauty
complicates
choosing.

PAIR EMBRACING (RHYMING CAPTION TO EGON SCHIELE PAINTING)
Pair embracing
after chasing
each other round
the sun parched ground.
Clothes forsaking
for love-making,
consummating
their rare outing.
Their bodies bare,
her untied hair
from head pools round
upon the ground.
The crumpling sheet
that was their seat
for picnicking
forms their bedding.
Her hair-lined groove
invites his move
to plunge within,
deeper than skin.

IN THE MIDSUMMER HEAT
In the midsummer heat
our blues are in retreat.
Joie de vivre in the street,
the disco pounds its beat.
Dresses are less discreet;
bare legs and sandalled feet
roving eyes' gazes meet.
The flirtatious greet.

Nasturtiums in light snow
Cold bites to my bones, stings my skin, joking
that summer was ever warm.
Beneath an iron sky, stragglers, jovial party people
linger by the cold windy door.
The warmth of their orange and red rages,
but diminished, by a light snowfall blanket.
It weighs them down,
their hot summery heads drooping under early winter’s white weight.
No cabbage white or tortoiseshell will visit these roguish
summer remnants;
the first frost will finish them soon enough—
smiting their tender leaves and stems to...

Nude Sunbather Massacre
Linda was sunbathing outside naked.
That's before she saw Mark with daggers.
She screamed before he slashed.

Wise Moments In The Wild
Around The Future
i spent the morning on the mountain, roaming like a drifter searching a new way
to chase away my stress, and spill out the bitter spleen in my heart, striding along,
passing every stone, climbing each rock, hearing every bird sending his complains, filling the dead void with a thousand sighs..
The pine forest lies quite on the steep rocky plain, anchored firmly to a childhood earth,
as some joyous robins and goldfinch broke my thoughts with a twitter and a gentle birdie scream,
Seemingly, Spring has sped some happy harbingers...

Looked Like She Lost Something On That Beach
At first, Deanna thought that she found
true paradise on a Cancun
beach. But that was before she
saw some guys staring at
her, looked down and saw
tan lines where her
bikini
was to
be.

Mid six week summer break
I wake, early,
to the dawn chorus coda, an oriole calling as a flute,
while I lay on my pillow,
an ivory mountain.
It’s August, middle of the six week schooling break,
and the day’s horizon shimmer beckons with sweet breath.
I follow the stream, where Kingfishers glide,
and dragonflies ply the sparkling water lanes.

Some Guys Were Staring At Them
One summer,
Christie and her two friends
Kathy and Rachel were walking on
the beach and wondering why some guys were staring
at them before they looked down and saw
They lost their bikini
tops somewhere.
