Disco Ball
Finally, the clouds began to unfold
as the storm tried to blow itself apart
to frame a post-zenith gibbous of gold
which lit the aurum of my midnight heart
as the wind chimes japed out a lively tune
as warm and fresh and full of tropic life
as the vernal glory oft blown in June
or fingered through an independence fife.
But then, just as quickly as revealed,
the blasting billows would as quick return
like some prohibition fast repealed
to throw some moonbeam medleys in the churn
as if chimes and beams were the discotheque ...

So many falling stars
In the corridors of thought
where shadows white is sublime
wheels of memory spin
in circles they turn
whispers of forgotten dreams
linger in the air.
Faces in the mirror
reflections of the past
moments fleeting by
too precious to outlast
colors of emotion
in a kaleidoscope's embrace.
Echoes of a heartbeat
in the silence of the night
thoughts like scattered leaves
take their secret flight
twirling like a dance
on the edge of the unknown.
Threads of golden memories
woven...

Storm
In the night your electricity
flashes upon my vein's doorsteps.
Your thunder's roar roams
my brain's craving cortex.
You are here.
No longer protected by just near.
Rain thrashes my ground,
liquid lust.
Flashing, roaring, drenching.
Invitationless.
Away blows my dress,
naked plains of flesh.
To receive your storm.
My deep soul severely
transformed.
flashes upon my vein's doorsteps.
Your thunder's roar roams
my brain's craving cortex.
You are here.
No longer protected by just near.
Rain thrashes my ground,
liquid lust.
Flashing, roaring, drenching.
Invitationless.
Away blows my dress,
naked plains of flesh.
To receive your storm.
My deep soul severely
transformed.

Dear Monsoon
Dear Monsoon,
You were due mid June
Now well into July,
this is no lie:
we need you.
Please come soon.
Respectfully,
Phoenix

Between Hurricanes
There's nothing romantic
about dying together.
There are those minutes
where one goes first,
leaving the other to suffer
the agony of what they loved most
is gone.
Staring at the corpse
of love removed,
and then waiting their turn.
Morbid then; I'd want you
to die before me.
Your pain would cease first
and it would bleed into me,
as I held you tightly.
I'd then die doubly weighted,
with our goodbyes
and emotions turmoiled.
And that's okay.
I'd cross my arms
over my chest ...
about dying together.
There are those minutes

leaving the other to suffer
the agony of what they loved most
is gone.
Staring at the corpse

Dreams
I watch the revolutions of the horizon
with an instinctive knowing
that such a thing is an education
in being and growing.
As dawn expands in my heart
and mind, in a design
composed in champaign
and emerges in fully formed art.
In a day scanned by butterfly
wings, over colored petal
things, with an indomitable
will – Integral to a back drop of sky,
Perfectly pristine, baby blue
thing, pulsating behind the
wing shaped mirage where the
butterfly vanished, true -
In a space haze of Heisenberg ...

how about I just sit here nice and quiet
old bloke in the bar says
I can’t go home in this weather, not with
my chest and this cough
but the publican replies
sorry mate, we’re closing
up and you can’t stay here all night
aye, says the old bloke, it’s
a conundrum, right enough ..

Clouds Collide
clouds like white cotton candy
fluffy in the sky of blue
tuck together and dance merry
when wind comes their way
as two strangers meeting by chance
eyes meeting and sparks ignite
hands reach out for gentle touch
needs and desires come into light
when clouds drift and collide
within the confine of nature's dome
magic ignites and they coalesce
and thunder and lightning are born
Strangers embrace become as one
falling in love in a dizzy whirlwind
colours subdued become so bright
when they...

incoming storm
There's a category 2 cyclone off the coast, not that far from where I am. I don't know what to think about it. I'm sure as hell not excited. My brain keeps telling me it's nothing compared to the cyclones I grew up with in Northern Australia, where thunder would shake the air so violently it could shatter glass.
I've seen trees on fire and thought they were beautiful.
I've seen my parents scramble for sand bags, only for the flood waters to stop at the edge of our veranda. I've stood at the edge of it and wished I could swim in it, just for the novelty.

Within The Comfort Of Proverbs May You Find Peace
Hands cannot reach the holy grail of a blessed mind
You will attempt to find the key, however not ordained by God design
On by man’s time
And still not sip the equation of the truth as you come to find

the clouds
the clouds
were busy
shape
shifting,
forgetting
how to fly,
their sense
of direction
was over,
their
languages
disappeared,
they opened
their mouths
and only
rain formed,
taking time
to fall
to
the ground,
even with
no intentions,
they weighted
the earth
with their
lost voices.

Mountain Storm
Mountain Storm
Gentlemen oaks usher mountaineers
On Appalachian fern gold
Whose fronds are lush with dreams
That gather in the mossy cusp of nature’s beautician
Who makes a patchwork quilt of green
On rocky heads of ancient totems
We emerge onto a bald God’s summit
Below clouds grow restless
As troops with no war
Who throw electric javelins
While bloodletting water
Bled from the earth
Whose aerial arteries
Flow in mist and rain
My sight blurs in flood on glasses
That obscures all but light
“Oh my God!”...
