Between Hurricanes
There's nothing romantic
about dying together.
There are those minutes
where one goes first,
leaving the other to suffer
the agony of what they loved most
is gone.
Staring at the corpse
of love removed,
and then waiting their turn.
Morbid then; I'd want you
to die before me.
Your pain would cease first
and it would bleed into me,
as I held you tightly.
I'd then die doubly weighted,
with our goodbyes
and emotions turmoiled.
And that's okay.
I'd cross my arms
over my chest ...
about dying together.
There are those minutes

leaving the other to suffer
the agony of what they loved most
is gone.
Staring at the corpse
of love removed,

I'd then die doubly weighted,

and emotions turmoiled.
And that's okay.
I'd cross my arms
over my chest ...

Vulnerability and Hellfire
Sometimes
Your give me your vulnerable
One moment at a time
Each syllable
Dancing
A rthymic flow
Graceful and amorous
Or a moody storm
Either way
I can't resist
The sweet sensation
Or your fiery finish
That is you
Your give me your vulnerable

I can't resist
The sweet sensation
Or your fiery finish
That is you

Reflection of headlights in the dog's eyes
There's nothing like walking the dog
on the Dia de los Muertos
where the veils between the worlds
are thin and the air is thick with the smell
of marigolds and incense.
In the twilight of life and death
the shadows dance and the whispers
of those who left echo through the night.
In this sacred moment
the living honor the dead
with altars decorated in vibrant tones
candles flickering like souls in the wind.
To be taken away on a night like that
is to be embraced by the unknown
feel the cold kiss of...

Beneath an Ominous Sky
Its throat roared,
a riotous rumble,
passing above the ruined rubble.
The funnel hung,
swiveled and swung,
licking its chops with a tawdry tongue.
Rolling, rumbling,
ferocious and foul,
it started with wind—then a hungry howl.

Stars
In the night sky's vast incandescence.
Stars whisper secrets of wind presence.
Dreams ignite with hopeful persistence.
Guiding hearts with gentle fluorescence.

Dreams ignite with hopeful persistence.
Guiding hearts with gentle fluorescence.
