counting
i enjoy
these
late hours,
i am
sprawled
out and
loitering
on my
nearby lawn,
face up
and looking
toward heaven,
counting stars
as wishes,
and then
a rain
shower
appears,
i lay
there
on the
wet grass,
looking up
and counting
raindrops.

Path
The sun was sinking
Giving just a hint of gold
After a day of respite
Beyond the blanket of
Cold grey clouds
The breeze stirring
In the grass and reeds
Was the only sound
I paused
Feet upon the planks
Of that slowly eroding path
I breathed
Pungent petrichor lingered
I could feel the changing season
Deep in my lungs
I found myself
At the edge of the world
And as the night quickened
The clouds thinned
And one by one
The stars came to life
Giving just a hint of gold
After a day of respite
Beyond the blanket of
Cold grey clouds
The breeze stirring
In the grass and reeds
Was the only sound
I paused
Feet upon the planks
Of that slowly eroding path
I breathed
Pungent petrichor lingered

O Mighty Orion
A furry star so damp and bright
purred with grace and simmering light.
Brushed against his heavenly belt
sprinkling her pearls above his kilt.
O Mighty Orion, cease your play.
I did not come to reminisce or stay.
You came to steal my wavering heart,
rip it out of my chest, smash it apart.
O Mighty Hunter, she wickedly gasped.
a kiss on the lips was all I asked.
I want that kiss, and for you to stay,
to hold in my arms for a night or day.
That all depends on your hardened vigil,
between...
purred with grace and simmering light.
Brushed against his heavenly belt
sprinkling her pearls above his kilt.
O Mighty Orion, cease your play.
I did not come to reminisce or stay.
You came to steal my wavering heart,
rip it out of my chest, smash it apart.

Shooting Stars
we both gasped
looking toward the night sky
and pointing in opposite directions
standing here in awe at the beauty
of a celestial show
stars showering in motion
across the horizon
drawing a line
to your heart from mine
tying us in an embrace
with our fingers interlaced
looking toward the night sky
and pointing in opposite directions
standing here in awe at the beauty
of a celestial show
stars showering in motion
across the horizon
drawing a line
to your heart from mine
tying us in an embrace
with our fingers interlaced

Night and Stars
It was a time of night and stars,
where firelight stained colomnus trees
against the quilted black of night.
Hearts spun on mortal plains
embrace in hues of pale moonlight.
No storm, nor rain befell the eve,
they spoke of ancient lakes that flowed
and forests steeped in elven words,
a grimwar rich in blood and time.
It was a time of night and stars,
where darkness delved in
delicious delight.
The air was still, intense but warm,
like the eyes that hold the others gaze
an ensemble, if you will, ...
where firelight stained colomnus trees
against the quilted black of night.
Hearts spun on mortal plains
embrace in hues of pale moonlight.
No storm, nor rain befell the eve,
they spoke of ancient lakes that flowed
and forests steeped in elven words,

my little boat
my
little boat,
sorry
to see
that sun
go down,
now
that misty
darkness
sank
closer
to the
treetops,
i weighted
my
little boat
in a
small harbor,
the moon
overwhelming me,
i lay
awake
to watch
the stars
in their
shadowy river,
falling asleep
in my
little boat.

Out of the wind
Out of the wind
. .and the night
a new sorrow
. .is not so deep.
The softness of the stars` dim light,
.makes it drowsy
and it goes to sleep ..

up in the hills
those hills,
not
mountain high,
not cloud
cover high,
but well
enough above
the flat
land below,
above the
city noises,
where
it seems
as if
the nights
let
the stars
visit, right
above
the treetops,
lasting
long after
the sundown,
the flowers,
and we
are gone.

i watch
you smile,
alive there
in
your night,
glowing like
moving waters,
the soft
and sensual
dark
holds you,
adjust
yourself
with each
thought,
of love's
fair ripening,
alluring wishes
left at
your feet.

layer by layer
how
do i
undress
our night,
each layer
by layer,
first
the moon,
the stars,
and each
little bit
of darkness,
peeling it
too thin
until i
can see
morning
through
the last
amount
of its skin.

(disobeying) stars
disobeying
the night's
command,
those stars
school
like fish
in fields
of their
earliest
convenience,
they
come hope
from angry
stomping,
they sling
spears at
the earth,
unloading
their hurt
in
the morning's
direction.

in the dark
i do love
the hidden
pleasures
of being
in the dark,
how should i
count my time,
minutes, hours,
sighs,
heartbeats,
i do feel free
to enter,
walking over
that threshold
still evolving,
treading through
memories,
untroubled,
this raw, safe
moment,
take me,
so, one by one
i put out
the stars,
i dim the moon
half lit.
