At Death’s Door
i am choked by the twisting vines of melancholia
hypnotizing petrichor fills my tarred lungs
i miss meandering meadows in mystical lands
and being mesmerized with each magical leaf
the last petal of an
enchanted flower falls;
an incantation…
i have lost my map to the forbidden knowledge
spellbound by the curse of a creature’s wrath
i am tortured by malignant tumors in my chest
the last shimmers of poison escaping my lips
i am aware of mother nature’s
decisive sorcery;
all things end…

Inner Peace
Inner peace requires peace of mind
Self doubt brings forth turbulence
Thus shaking the scales one must balance
Urgency brings on mistakes
Yet complacency stifles all growth
Find your pace but take your time
Take a few breaths and quiet the mind
Breathe in and breathe out
Do not bury but instead expel
Cleanse the vessel of your soul
Choose the higher path
Feel the energy from the heavens
Become born again
Your view is your world
Shape it to your desires
Conquer yourself and then be at peace ...

Is death really the end?
Is it ever really over?
It just doesn’t seem logical to me
I know I’ve never believed it is
Yet when death stares you in the face
All logic goes out the window
I know she’s not really gone
She’s as close to me as ever
I can feel her all around me
She’s in each breath that I breathe
She’s in every tear that I cry
She is everywhere and in everything I do
She’s as gone now as she was when alive
She’s as present now as one can be in death
She’s constantly near and far
Always...

Our Father Who Art In Heaven Hallowed Be Thy Name
and so I pray to be free from my chains
Lead Me Not Into Temptation

It is a lost echo
a wandering ghost
an empty room in a Victorian house
It is dust piled on unopened books
a writer’s empty page
a slow winter snowfall
It is an incense burning
warm sunshine upon dozing cats
the steady growth of a plant
It is that pause between breaths
an unvisited gravestone
a still woodland pond
It is the artist’s inner concentration
the awe at gazing upon shooting stars
