A Result Of The Night Before
Friday, Loretta
woke up and found herself in
some guy's bed and so naked.
That was before she
remembered meeting him at
a local bar Thursday night.

Rest
One more day, that's it
but I know I can't quit
I have to keep going just a bit longer
the promise of a safe haven getting stronger
my eyes feel so heavy and sad
but I know home is coming for this lad
so with a heavy sigh I pick up my soul
and push forward, time for a stroll
but I know I can't quit
I have to keep going just a bit longer
the promise of a safe haven getting stronger
my eyes feel so heavy and sad
but I know home is coming for this lad
so with a heavy sigh I pick up my soul
and push forward, time for a stroll

As I get older I feel I’ve become a little more senile,
While I try to be respectful of other people’s views,
I can’t commiserate with cantankerous cunts
Continually calling themselves Christians
Asking me to put myself in others’ shoes.
I was raised conservative but now I’m progressive,
I can also be an asshole so I can spot bullshit a mile away,
I was taught not to be rude but I keep wanting to,
Lord knows I try so I say to myself, I’ll reply another day.
Then I see the crap...

Sleeplessly Asleep
I sometimes dream
When i'm awake
As a myriad images
Rise
From the depths of my subconcious
As i drift off
And oft get lost
Within my daydream world
It's now early morn
And i'm still wide awake
As my thoughts permeate
The silent stillness
Of a cold winters morning
As i lie here in hope
That my eyes will close
And i'll drift off
Into a wonderful
Sometimes pleasant
Often times scary
World of sleeping dreams
No matter how tired i am
My brain
Whirrs, and ticks

Women Ask Men to Scoot Over
Usually it's in bed
Reluctantly of course we move
Often we'd like to stay where we are
Men never use the word SCOOT
That's a female word all the way
I read this to her
She asks me what I'm trying to prove
I tell her I don't like the SCOOT word
How come she asks
I tell her that she's more fun close by
She's quiet for a moment
Then tells me to SCOOT
Reluctantly of course we move
Often we'd like to stay where we are
Men never use the word SCOOT
That's a female word all the way
I read this to her
She asks me what I'm trying to prove
I tell her I don't like the SCOOT word

She's quiet for a moment
Then tells me to SCOOT

LULLABY
this old flesh
shivering in its bed,
seeking the
comfort
of dreams
wine is bad
for the liver,
cigarettes,
for the heart
drink your tea
and shut up
go to sleep
shivering in its bed,
seeking the
comfort
of dreams
wine is bad

Swirling
These thoughts of lead
Weigh heavy on my head
Constantly firing synapses
Peace of mind collapses
Brain's going a mile a minute
Forever racing, there's no limit
Day dreaming, wide awake
Just switch off for goodness sake
A cranium full of pondering
With endless cerebral wandering
Always thinking so deep
Why can't I just fall asleep?
Weigh heavy on my head
Constantly firing synapses
Peace of mind collapses
Brain's going a mile a minute
Forever racing, there's no limit
Day dreaming, wide awake
Just switch off for goodness sake
A cranium full of pondering
With endless cerebral wandering
Always thinking so deep
Why can't I just fall asleep?

Demand
Tiredness has left yet sleep still remains
Am I an android? A tin can?
Have they beaten the human out of me?
My heart no longer bleeds, it pumps without passion
How does one rest with no urge to?
Perhaps a switch
Lit up on demand, often forgotten
I’ve no choice but to wait to be turned off
To forget that I am a machine
Am I an android? A tin can?
Have they beaten the human out of me?
My heart no longer bleeds, it pumps without passion
How does one rest with no urge to?
Perhaps a switch
Lit up on demand, often forgotten

To forget that I am a machine

Rain, Rivers and Cascades
I must be dreaming,
I hear the rain outside my windows,
I can hear my kids screaming,
Enjoying the river as the water flows.
I hear a stream in the other room,
Cascades are falling through the walls,
It all seems so surreal so I assume,
The rivers runs rapidly through the halls.
So in between dream and fantasy,
I expect my bed to slowly drift me away,
Hearing splashing somewhere in reality,
But in this fond illusion I want to stay.
I can hear the water falling, rushing,
The trees are dancing in the cool breeze,...

A prison of Dreams
A dream is truly a window into the hidden experiences of a persons life.
Whispers of the past, echoes of the now,
A dreamscape where emotions plough.
The hidden experiences, unkept and unbound,
In the silent theater of the subconscious dream.
We are reminded of pain and regret, of Pleasure and Rejoice.
Each scene a reminder, a cinematic art,
Of the turmoil within, tearing at the heart.
Scripts of sorrow, inked in shades of gray,
Unfolds in the mind where suppressed memories hold sway.
The dreamer, a captive in a phantasmal cell, ...

Ancestors
Dead leaves tap-dance
across pebbled pavement,
enticing a lazy day
to guard my energy,
allowing it to flow along channels
unseen by eyes that watch
gray clouds swirl into
soft, pastel hues.
Chilled fingers
grip downy blanket edges,
eyes rocking body to sleep.
The nightscape,
in languid rotation, swallows
the light, and it is here--
They speak in tongues.

Wonderland
It was night.
I was tired.
And ready to dream away.
I got under the blanket.
I laid my head on the pillow, closing my eyes.
One second,I was in my bed.
Next thing I know,I have a fuzzy feeling in my head.
I woke up in a mystical land.
Where it's colorful, and everything is bent.
Everyone was smiling unnaturally wide.
I didn't know what it meant.
I began to head inside a tunnel.
But I started to fall.
I ended up in a hallway.
The air had an odd smell.
Next to me ,a magical wishing well. ...
