Shadows of Alluring
Beneath the starless obsidian sky
dancing to pulsing echos of silence
deep as the grave, haunting moon
touching lips speaking in whispers
in shadows of alluring melancholia
tween love's devotion and obsession

One with the fog and night...
When night fell on the city,
When the light of lanterns spilled over the streets,
When it was pulling away from the house,
A dense fog fell to the ground.
He, slowly moving along the houses,
Sliding along the sidewalks and roads,
He lay down like a carpet on the expanse of night courtyards,
And that night he reminded me of many things.
Slowly stalked by my fears
And eerie shadows cast in the dark,
Was filled with a mystery for me
Alluring, sweet, timid...
I, sitting by the window, tried to
unravel the Foggy...

When it was pulling away from the house,

This Litte Piggy
This Little Piggy went to market this Little Piggy still trying to find her way back home
Where once upon a time her evil sisters and mother turned their back on her existence leaving her all alone
In her father’s eyes she never measured up
Where can a small child get love if it is not given from the crown of her generational cup

beautiful,
what i
find loveliest,
immeasurable,
a different
kind of
intimacy, how
many times
i recognized
but could
not name,
hope flickers
like
a torch,
low and
pale
through
the darkness,
ever looking
downward
from the
world unknown,
no sound
to my
silent night,
i heard
nothing but
still saw
her everything.
sat
beautiful,
what i

blindfolded,

couldn’t
reach for him
couldn’t look for him;
so that when my
spine crumbled
all I could do was

‘don’t’ as I
heard the door
pull shut.
He left
with cruel
words wrapped
in kindness
He told me to
find another
playmate

Sister, removed
I wish I had known you better.
I wish I could say I tried.
But I – buried under small bodies
and schedules and needs,
with just enough distance between us to be
inconvenient –
And you – for so long obscured from my view,
with my lifelong tormentor between us --
I just thought we’d have more time.
Eclipsed by his tortured shadow
of bluster and opinions and judgement,
she tossed out colourful sparkles
of beauty and care into our family,
touching us all with a thoughtfulness
much deeper than...

Let the obscurity of night embrace
your insecurity; light leaves this space.
Release the tension from your spine; feel free.
Ease your attention, drink some wine, and see.
Your pupils dilate, you must believe.
Fill yourself, create, trust what you perceive.
Still, I deem you are lost; uncloud your mind.
Shrill dreams, the cost endowed, who did you find?

The Discovery of Coffee
The Discovery of Coffee
Her spirit was first made flesh
before the fall of Atlantis
in the ancient coffee forests
of the Ethiopian plateau
where she was the first
to find out that the bean
was more than something
picked by children for fun
And she was the one of those kids
Who gathered magic beans for play
Only to learn that they made much more
Than a basket full of pretty seeds
But when dropped in a pot
Held over a fire
Became a brew of exquisite...
