Listen
A torn photograph of the past
Foggy thoughts return inside
Moments that could never last
Salty words clash with pride
Whispers are growing louder
Time can wait without panic
Strung out on strange powder
Making the situation frantic
Old school analog creatures
Living within this digital age
Gruff with honest features
Taught from a different page
Sometimes change is hard
When no one stops to listen
Foggy thoughts return inside
Moments that could never last
Salty words clash with pride
Whispers are growing louder
Time can wait without panic
Strung out on strange powder
Making the situation frantic
Old school analog creatures

Lucifer Loves You, Always!
One day my parents were about to go out for a drive
Satan appeared and said, "one of you must die"
He performed some witchery with his hands
Said something foreign that my parents didn't understand
That night mother saw something as she undressed
Lucifer's mark was burned upon her breast
The next day father was relaxing in the tub
A creature flew in the window, named Beelzebub
Satan arrives in many forms
Not just a man with red devil horns
The creature brought in a recipe for maple walnut fudge

My Heart (the song version)

Who said that I can't have it all
When the sun is shining & you're in my heart
Where else would I wanna be
Just sitting here watching you looking at me
And when this all comes to an end
I know I will enjoy every second we spend
And if you ever have a doubt
Just reach for me and you'll find out
You are my heart that is beating
you're the stars that are gleaming
you are the dream I keep seeing
you are everything that I needed ...
Who said that I can't have it all
When the sun is shining & you're in my heart
Where else would I wanna be
Just sitting here watching you looking at me
And when this all comes to an end
I know I will enjoy every second we spend

On Reading Ginsburg’s “Howl”
Once, I possessed an open mind,
which I assure you was my own.
I used it to read Ginsberg’s “Howl”.
Well, I don’t wish to be unkind
but those words seemed randomly sown.
my first reaction was a scowl.
So I tried a second reading.
His words looked clipped and pasted;
mashed to the page with cruel force.
Was he desperate? Was he bleeding?
Or perhaps just strangely wasted
by some bizarre urban remorse?
Was there a narrative to track,
or should I have even bothered to try?
Words like photos pinned up on a board ...

Tinseltown (collab with Vision_of_insanity)
Plastic people, faux life
Celebrities shine,
Amongst the pain & strife
An illusion of a directors thoughts
Cesspool in Eden
Pleasing the studio boss
Artificial in everything that's seen
Pictures of beauty
Reality is a dream
Never think more then you know
A testament to your image
Look your best, before the show
Wading in a shallow pool
Drink it up like a fool.
Trees a plenty and lost inside.
A forest, crazies, come to hide.
Hollywood, shining bright.
The stars, flickering, through...

OLD WRITING TRUTHS NEEDED TODAY
NOTES
As I was going through old files,
papers, and notes from college days
I came across a graduate course
folder with the following writing tips.
1. Don't try to guess what people want to hear
from you; first, figure out what you have to say.
2. Rejection is a sure sign you are a serious writer.
3. Original thoughts flow quickly; borrowed ones don't.
4. Writing can, and does, take place at any time or place.
5. Few critics are on the Bestseller List.
6. You can't write effectively out of ignorance.
7. The first quality of a...

Get Off My Fuchsia
Seduced by the night's scented fuchsia of high-octane
You may have a Smart Phone but I have bone
"Today's music ain't got the same soul"
Touched by your cricket on a Knucklehead Harley
Protein makes one "boogie on down"
Listening to "Old Time Rock & Roll"
Nothing gives a slice of life like profane
Formaldehyde doesn't bring any pain

Babel
Age of inhuman, Babel confusion.
Raven recruitment, fabled from cupid.
Playing the nooses, mage's amusement.
Greater when moonlit, Satan seduces.
Graven congruence, gauging occlusion.
Ancient entombment, placing seclusion.
Tainted attunement, splaying disunion.
Latent solutions, fateful intrusion.
Anger abuses, angel induces.
Savored collusion, laymen preclusion.
Manger disproving, strangers disputed.
Reigning this movement, payment exclusive.
Graceless and gruesome,...

Lineage and Legacy
Lineage and Legacy as one must come to perceive
Those are life’s footprints we deem to conceive
Moments in time we have achieved
As we glance upon a mirror of our reflection
Our eyes, nose, lips, lineage at times comes into question
What makes us the person who we are
From a presence already ordained beyond a constellation of stars
Are we playing out our life on a cosmic screen
Sight and feelings in time unforeseen
Learning in life to keep our noses clean
If God does know all
Then why do we...

String Instruments
What's the point of so many rhythmic lines?...
Row, rhyme and rum
They are just waves in the same sea.
Seagull murmurs
like someone singing a fado or two
or it will come to sing much later.
Arrange drawers, sticks and prints
from left to right in an order
almost alphabetical.
Unhinged fairies blessing the sound
of a lute, a guitar and a banjo.
Without wings, without bones, like angels!
Pain descriptive nonconformities
that passes through the brain shamelessly
Bloodlust of a dark predator.
