Hope For Passing Strange.
From pictures painted on cave walls
becoming now our hallowed halls
and who can't marvel at their call?
Out of the earth to rest or range
as with us so with their own age,
strutting out on the self same stage,
As from the dust they speak to us.
"Look, we too slept, fed, loved and cussed,
hated, made war, and showed some trust,
And worked at home or braved the weather
to catch the food of fur or feather,...

My Mirror.
My Mirror faithfully reflects
then, having pondered shows aspects
of self unseen in other's eyes
ah, but then, my glass never lies.
ii
I gaze into that scene within
with me without and looking in
wondering what might come to pass
it two were there seen, lad and lass.
iii
I angle for another look
and find not self but Eastern Suq
no painting this, but moving frame
of Eastern Delight, of worldly fame.
iv
At first in two dimensions seen ...
then, having pondered shows aspects

How Beautiful
He was beautiful deep down in his own heart
though always asleep in his own mind,
and I loved him so but, thought I was smart,
tried to change him, as a kid I was so blind.
But he had lovely long, long, tight-black curls
like some bold gypsy with fortunes to tell,
that I swear when he shook his head the world
heard, such a great joyous pealing of bells,
as he conjured me to wondrous places
some magical psychedelic kaleidoscope
of dreams viewed by this gentlest of crazies
but, outside his...

Justice
Blacks get more time than whites.
The police love to read our rights.
The justice system is so damn dirty.
Damn, they don't show any mercy.
They're supposed to serve and protect.
But yet they don't give us any respect.
Because it's the color of my skin.
Like being black is an awful sin.
They say we gotta vote for change.
These laws gotta be rearranged.
Living in this world we're not equal.
We live in a world full of evil.
I'm not doing this for likes and views.
Blacks being killed is always in the news.

The Virus
These events as of late has been preparing the world for my return
Baal has been torturing me over and over watching me burn
But I've been promised to be the first allowed through the fucking gates
Baal said only if this time you brought even more pain delivering their fate
But as soon as he said it he realized that it was a silly request
Mentality believes in the punishment of the flesh to lay the spirit to rest
I want it to lay down, roll over, and become like putty in my hands
So Baal tortures me with promises of a possible release under his command...

The Bisto-Kid.
It's dark and damp in Georgia, near
this Cahulawassee river,
a jungle, like Borneo, I fear
as I break another nail, and shiver.
On the Appalachian trail
a visit to the primitive past,
" I must be outta my tree," I wail
but mostly I need food and fast.
" Dinner's ready " a ghostly moan
dies away in the falling night,
a rattle of pans make me groan
coz I've not dined since early light.
The smell of smoke awakes my plight
as does the aroma of roast pork ...
