Balding age of wisdom and the world grows old
Hair continues to fall out, the truth has been told
I'll continue to repeat myself, hopefully it makes you forget
Running on empty is rewarding, but not cool if you're on a jet
Cataracts, everyone is a grey massive blur
Watching porn, makes you realize your an amateur
You make yourself believe, you're the one for the job
Boss spits in your face, points you to the door-knob
Finding all it's worth in a lonely worthless world
You continue to get rejected by hard up, lonely girls

You wrap me up in empty promises
I want to want you

but you always leave me waiting
for the bass drop that never comes
and this melody is getting old
You pin me down
without pinning me down
and am I so desperate for love
I would accept less than the minimum
just so I can tell myself I'm wanted?
You look at me
like I'm everything
but your words betray you
your absence of touch speaks so loud
and I'm reminded of how it feels
to be unloveable

I watch you pass me in the hallway
a tangible ghost
you talk but I'm not listening
because I'm the ghost
and I've got no time
for your living problems

you say you want me
but all your words are about you
and even if I had something to say
you wouldn't know
because you dare not ask
the hard questions
I feel like a spectator
in my own science experiment
where I'm the subject in my own
rat maze of emptiness
