Unafraid
The night, warmed by human
friction, fighting and fucking to the
rhythmic hum of streetlights, burnt
offerings upon this altar, my city
Beneath it all a slow metronomic
pulse, a beating heart accelerates
with the anticipation of carnality
as visions of asphyxiation orgasms
and blood permeate
There is no growth without pain,
break away from the digital diarrhea
and give yourself over, step on
the broken glass memories and let
pain make you wet
Dance with me in the fire
of your passion, I...

The Gray Puzzle
I pour my life onto the table
one thousand puzzle pieces
each colored a dismal shade of gray
I try to separate, to sort through,
hoping for a pattern to emerge in a
piled up sea of nothingness, cutting
myself on the sharp edges, those pieces
that form the frame, we always build our
walls up first
Like most things I've started, I've walked
away from this mess several times
I will always return because there is this
six sense, this burning idea that once
all the pieces are in...

Slivers
I seem to find them
everywhere I go
as if meant to show
I have been here before
Long before any lore
or the very first poem
when my spirit did roam
across the early earth
Some are made of wood
some are made of stone
still others comprised of bone
each carved so tender
As if meant to render
some relief in each curve
in each polished divot
like my soul took a pivot
While skipping across the sea
every single part of me
preserved within this case

So as the heart a caravan
.For every atom belonging to me as good belongs to you.
-walt whitman
Traveling roads and directionless directions
So as the heart a caravan
Beats dimensionally to hearts within.
In astron fields of spun moonlight
So as the heart a caravan
For what of the way is separable
That is not itself of this universe also?
Beside the gentle-flicking flame
May the heart dance on
Fastened to others yet unfastened,
Connecting what...

I grow weary of the earth
and call for the unfurling of wings
that I might be delivered from the
banality of this tired hateful place
It’s been a long time since I have
shifted, if I speak its name will I be
ripped into the cosmos, a dark star
disgusted with the light
The talons within bring pain to
my fingernails as if longing to burst
forth embracing the change, more at
home in the nightmare than the dream
Old flesh is torn from me, my blood
pours in flames, leaping in transformation
so high I see the...

appleseed: an american king
do i make sense in this aqua world
so hard to type without any control
slowly being peppered over shots of waves
keys waver merry to wave hail a banding
of blood-sworn from king to inappropriate
sheers glistened from the traverses
of hooking lips or that of claws rasped
do you sense land bobbing beyond promises
looking for the vulpine connects to space
looking along the telescope for a rainbow road
are you the princess once the void bends
forward coring the apple tree
are we late pink are we...

The Rill
Something perfect grappling
branches as lichens
work darkness, around a dozen fell
on better earth with me.
Do nothing, but at least light
kingdoms, so stars,
if in arranging my luminous
thoughts, the seeds heard.
They remembered
doom and, I,
white water breathing
dark fire among stone.
Never had birds
tenderly thought
insects into pockets,
their small night river of moths.
Times rose, morning vanished-
took by...

Pyre
I want to stack them high
one upon one
each flaw
each falter
Highest upon this alter
a deep sacrifice
to shed this immoral skin
liberate what is within
Seize the sacred torch
burn what is meant to scorch
fluid flames incinerate
then consummate
Basking in its light
illuminating the night
each shadow dark
burnt in offering
Finally able to see
the unadulterated me
divine in its form
blessed by this fire storm
one upon one
each flaw
each falter

Arrival
A twin is coming
No good a running
I tell you brother
One follows the other
At first will be bad
Then you will be glad
I tell you Sire
You're in the mire
Don't be afraid
You're here to be made
I tell you mister
Soothe your sister
A twin is nearing
It's what you're hearing
I tell you Master
You're sinking faster
It's what you have yearned
Everything must be earned
I tell you my friend
This is not the end
As the chapter it ends
And the light it bends
I tell...

an elementary of souls
the numbers remain fixed in the universe
so how do we account for our
over-population as extinction blooms,
sprawling souls whose numbers flat-lined
await critical mass in a line
whistling it seems,
I wouldn’t know, transfixed as eyes
of an in-between upon pyramid guavas: gaudy
crumbs and forgetful America, the dinosaurs
have somewhere to reenter, I hope I hold
a leftover of the Dreadnoughtus, alas the queue
is as long as the stars continue
to thin
out, they had to...

Got No Say
Been forever now
Since a voice held a vote
Can’t recall when us became them
Well, you got no say
The colors dim
And streets get muddy
From shrapnel thrown around
Well, you got no say
Hate those ways
Deceptive and terrible too
Long gone is saying I told you so
Because it came true
You can’t run
There’s no hiding now
So rise up before they bury you
Fight the submission
Tax the wealthy
Rubber band their future
Let them crawl with no destination
Now, you...

She Rises
With spirit and determination
Her lifeforce spread like fire
Every single feather - a blaze
A wingspan more than what anyone could ever measure
A rite of rebirth and regeneration
Baptized in flames
And us poets
With glassy eyes witness
How she rises
A reawakening from beyond this realm
How the words spoken
Can help heal those of us who are broken
As a testament
Leaving behind a legacy
