Spring Mirth
Plush olive and maroon leaves
tempt my weariness with a reprieve.
Flaunting their secret scarlet beads.
Blossom with a lusting thirst for
spring rain's, gently weeping eyes.
From a milk white sky, one for which
the dogwoods vie.
Birds soar the mood less sky.
They fly right through the lingering goodbyes.
Echoes in the air that had no care to die.
The ones that had no why.
Like hungry winter parts with floral spring.
Barren bark and blossom had their fling.

The Fear Stings
I passed away long years ago
and death gave me all that I posses,
a comfy berth free of rent and tax, though,
being incomeless that could induce some stress.
I have a box to keep my bones within
a roof composed of good old English turf,
and here I lie and the dead long day sing
of the second coming and my rebirth.
I have sang all the old songs, composed anew,
and still I lie and still I sing,
although the notes are now lower and few,
as my bones return to dust, the fear stings.
and death gave me all that I posses,

The death of a mouse, the birth of something else
A mouse on the side of the road,
not moving or trying to hide.
How it was missed by rotating masses
of rubber and steel
is anyone's guess but I digress.
I got off my bike in the middle of a ride,
the one I take to escape the tribe,
and moved this small bit of fur
off the road and away from a roadkill.
Crawling toward me
I immediately shrink back
afraid of being bitten.
Poisoning I surmised,
as I held it in my hands until it died.
I felt connected to something
yet unable to describe,
that small acts...
