marks slow pulse

Golden Child
Wonder what's seen when all eyez are on me
Do they see me for me; a pure bred pedigree
There's only one me, making me a one of one
No other's like me up under the golden Sun
The title pun is intended; admittedly it's true
I'm kissed by the Sun so I've got a darker hue
Does that make you view me any differently?
Is your view skewed and only can see racially?
Taught to see everything in black & white?
If that's true it's time for you to see the light
Cause the colors are bright and diversified
Whoever told you...
Do they see me for me; a pure bred pedigree

Don't Do Me Any Favours
Your imagination tells you that your race is superior to others,
But in reality, you’re not better human beings than I am.
All mortal men of dust should treat one another as equals.
You think my life doesn’t matter because I’m a Negro,
So you abuse me and murder my children with impunity.
What kind of person doesn’t regard some persons as human beings?
The shade of my skin doesn’t make me a lesser man.
Why does a white person have to stand up for me?
No thank you, ma’am or sir, don’t do me any favours.
People who are prejudiced against me...

Think you're gonna make a change from inside
You're gonna be in for one hell of a ride
They lied to you when they said you're blue
They're just making marionettes out of you
Getting you to do their every bidding
As your comrades keep on killing
That's why we're kneeling defiantly
Overseers, please check your history
Your fraternity of disorderly police
Historically have disturbed our peace
Even footage released of clear homicides
Habitually are grand juried as justified
We're goddamn tired of the looped...
