Privatization & Deregulation Ruined NYC
NYC doesn't have alligators but it does have moats, that at one time protected the downtown subculture.
This kept away the jocks, yuppies, normal people and other intruders.
By the late 1990's, crime subsided and the real estate developers magically made the hood livable.
NYC was losing it's soul.
By the time the new millennium was near, the real estate boom forever transformed the city's styles & attitudes.
The oddities lost their frontier
Some rolled with these changes, others left the city and some reminisced about the "Good old days". ...
This kept away the jocks, yuppies, normal people and other intruders.

wicked verses escape me
vertigo of the soul
escalating in the revolution of the world
here we go kids
time to wake up
unveil your face
we're entering into a different zone
ride the elevator all the way down
the hierarchy is in control
deciding who comes and goes
buckle up the ride has just begun
a sickle gathers souls
the machine is conquering and dividing
a mass deception meant to divert your attention
look what's happening under your nose
you're going to vote ...

I'll "stay in bed for peace":
my tensions I'll release
in acts of making love
to my beautiful Dove.
I'm not going to war
for White House warrior
who didn't get to 'Nam
when called by Uncle Sam.
They who have most treasures

Uncle Scam
All he did was make lots of threats
and still he got the votes
from white folks with bajillion frets
stoked by kazillion gloats.
They were the smash mouth runagates
who mostly had it good,
except for all their mental states;
as brittle as dead wood...
where moral muscle had been found,
perhaps when they were six,
but now their morals are unsound
all due to MAGA tricks.
The kind that turns a decent kid
into a raging troll,
like the kind who flips his lid...
when Bishops show some soul.
and still he got the votes

The elephants
Elephants are huge
they cast giant shadows
have wide flat round feet
and lots of love for the trunk.
Elephants are annoying
with their bodies
stunning
the soft memories
of stupid children's faces.
Elephants know
many and diverse people
which if it's not a friend
must be a far relative.
Such lonely animals
take up lots of space
but they can't hide
because they don't fit
in the closets.
They mess with everything and everyone
want to be part of history
but they get lost in...
