A frayed rope
held by thin thread,
on the brink of tattering.

I’m baffled
at how it hasn’t
snapped already.

When the Flip

I can remember
when the flip
happened.

What was beautiful inverted
with what was not.

Beauty
turned its back
on me,
believing the slick
words
of others.

What had never
been given
a spark
of notice
became my muse.

In my wretchedness,
I was accepted.

That became
the appex
of beauty.

To myself-
What you are waiting for
Isn't going to get here
Until it gets here
Be patient-
It will find you

I am on hold
with music that is
intended to calm me
I will stay bold
for I am not calmed
I remain (politely) enraged

I’ll not be subdued
though two chats aborted
I have been persistent
No need to be rude
this is a new person
so let us start fresh

I need not plead
for my case is strong
and you will not thwart me
I plan to succeed
not pay one more penny
for your fake “free trial”

So, you think you know her and what’s more how to fix her too. A good kick up the arse and less victim mentality would be a start.
Thing is you haven’t a clue and the times she has used triple x super glue just to hold herself in place to stand in front of you or beside you or maybe a fraction behind you.
Funny thing is when she sees you, she doesn’t look in judgment but more a secret high five in solidarity and her words are always thoughtful and considerate.
Behind a face that smiles are also ones who had to fight either demons or life and possibly their own thoughts alone...
