Hourglass
When negativity senses
vibrations of sand
escaping the hour glass--
it hastens advancement;
Granules become barbs
malformed reminders
puncturing the calender
of its personal agenda;
their swollen restiveness
a relentless testament
of deflated attempts
Artists tumble ahead
despite resistance
Because. . .
Wisdom survives history:
suffering maltreatment
forgoing vengeance
patiently awaiting
that final grain
to drop thru
the pass
delivering Us
from...

dear lord
in the eternal ether, the darkness grows
greedy in its intent, it presses in on me
it hurts, it reasons evolution of the fittest
time is infinite
pain is a key ingredient to soul growth
the testing of patience brings to fruition clarity
pain in e minor
delicate notes flow through me
hurt turns within
uncertainty fucks with me
I don't what the future holds
am I resilient enough to stand come what may?
my patience is lacking
my anger unchecked
repressed and masked
so volatile with the least shake ...

Word Of Mouth
I learned early;
If you can't read the writing on the wall,
it's because you're standing
too close to the wall.
Staying back, there's knowledge in distance.
Because intimacy brings a different awareness,
when my words have my mouth to hamper
any given wisdom.
So it's best to be quiet, while eyes collide
within or without, understanding.
It's easy to speak when I'm cold.
I can sit with all who shiver,
as my stutter blends with theirs,
blaming the current predicament.
Language is an evolution ...

By My Side
It was in those days of youth
When my emotions had held me loyal and true
And though a mountain range of obstacles lay ahead
I just knew that patience would eventually pay off
I waited and waited for her
But the choices we made carved a different path
And we went our separate and distant ways
Far apart and yet still closer to the heart
And it was after a decade
That upon seeing her face again I knew it was real
That ember never died inside of me
Remembering the emotion with all its intensity
Our time had finally...

When the Flip
I can remember
when the flip
happened.
What was beautiful inverted
with what was not.
Beauty
turned its back
on me,
