for a place I had just left
It was a glowing review
of how the chef
had created a truly
international menu

from appetizer to soup
entree and dessert
not one word
about me

hidden in the shadows are all the stars I've collected
they don't wish for the sky
they are happy to shine in my smile and eyes
they raced from the heavens
really just shiny wishes
light a smile and kiss a super nova
starlight shine with hope in the moment
