it's not a prison, but you'd be forgiven for mistaking it as one
Places like this
aren't made for honest people
if you were honest when you got here
you won't be honest
by the time you leave
I don't know a single person
who hasn't broken the rules
myself included
I've broken three today already
and I'll break two more
before the day is out
Because freedom comes at a price
and it's hard enough to be here
that getting a gold star for compliance
isn't on anyones agenda
though my file would make you think
I'm the kind of person
that can walk that...

Mother of Bones
There it is
The moon
Up high
Suspended
For what seems like years
Before it goes down
Being swallowed
Like medication
So many moon pills
The same color of skeletons
I’ve held in the
Palm of my hand
Miniature in comparison
Resembling the river stones
Embedded in my freshwater veins
The perfect remedy
To help me sleep
And continue to spin
Towards the next day
Towards the sun
My blazing vitamin
Who I absorb daily
Warming all the
Variety of bones

Some things (and places) are worth the hype
Human-made wonders
can be hit and miss
when it comes to the awe department,
but nature never disappoints.
And human nature,
when at its rare best
can be truly extraordinary.
To see night fall within seconds
under a blazing crown,
and day return just as fast –
truly worthy of all the glory,
and others will write of it
more eloquently than I.
But
to witness it with thousands
who have sat cramped in cars for hours
through towns where “traffic” means
three cars at the...
can be hit and miss

What Links Heaven to the Earth?
It has been said
that Man’s the link between
the earth and all the realms above
Why then
does Genesis proclaim
that Man’s attempt to bridge the spacious gap
rhat God had set in his creation days
betwixt
the reaches of the settled firmament
and all the water separated land
that wingless creatures
dwell upon
resulted in the curse
upon the denizens of humankind
that cost them then
the glad ability
to understand each others speech
to find a stable home,
and fast ensured their towering ...

Human hues
She slipped clumsily in a café
Looked all around her
from the corner of her eye
Felt all eyes upon her
Bit her lip
and flushed crimson
most disconcertedly.
He was sacked,
literally fired
Got down in the dumps
Was down and out
and was left feeling
blue real gloomily.
He gave her a blossomed rose
Blood rushed to her cheeks
She blushed a deep red
so very joyously.
She watched her rival from afar
envy surged in her quite in reflex
and she turned green...

Have you ever looked into someone’s eyes,
the window to their soul, or so they say,
and wondered,
“What the fuck goes on inside their head?”
Could their brain be rotting dead,
with buzzing flies feeding off
every leftover of their common sense?
Is there a Plankton behind the control board,
in charge of wicked acts,
carelessly bouncing from one button to another?
Did their gears come to a halt,
the burning wires of awareness ablaze
with fumes of empathy fading out?
Where has the light went off
from...

all around the town
snickering and smirking
all in the name of God
no one keeps secrets sacred
no thinking is safe
smiles are lies
hidden beneath cowardly hate
winks and laughter
all create tears
when was the last time you
actually felt fear?
none of you are true
everyones eluded thoughts
when someones whispers
spilling another's words
it all becomes a reality
souls killed from within
aint no sunshine in this town
only decayed friendships
no angels from the heavens ...

spent some time up on the coast
in the land of always been
up where the elk run among the cedars

There's those
whose thoughts
are blues
as dots
that never
nowhere....

not again.
