Poems about Happiness
#happiness
Enchanting and exuberant poetry about happiness. To know joy, we must first experience darkness, but these happy poems shine a light on the world during the good times.

The Power of Poetry
Every little word means so much,
Faithful and true but words aren't enough,
Line after line,
It's comfort I find,
Page after page,
Released from a cage,
Word after word,
Let's reverse this hurt,
Every poem I manage to create,
Builds a new house that's great,
Without words what would we say?
Help me find a brighter day,
When the earth is shaking I write,
When I don't feel like waking I hide,
The broken pieces keep on breaking,
Every life is worth saving,
You dont have to be perfect to live, ...

My Hardware Life - 2
Store Manager says
“CEO of our parent company
is coming for a visit”
when? I don't know.
what's he look like?
search me.”
all day we play a game of, “who can it be?”
a contest made more difficult
by our lunchtime clientele
primarily IBM Engineers
and Executive in business apparel
a “Thomas Crown Affair (ish)” deception mess
Just after lunch break
I, leader of the garden department crew,
returning to my domain
when I spy a customer
shopping for a hummingbird feeder
“Can I help you sir?”...

DU and Me
The end of an era
both yours DU, and mine.
Sometimes it’s best just to say goodbye
to close the door and not…hang on.
Urgently my fingers copy and paste my trove of poems
just to make sure…just to make sure I’ve got them all
before you close your doors.
Every now and then I read one and I'm
taken back to that space and time.
It’s like walking the yellow brick road in reverse
where life was lived, where joy was felt
where heartache reigned.
But more importantly - I see...I see
how I have grown...how I have...
both yours DU, and mine.

Ding, ding!
customer drives in
to pickup heavy, bulky,
generally unwieldy
already purchased merchandise
I manage the muscle men
tasked with hefting
countless, fifty-pound bags of cement
twenty-five-pound bags of rock salt
and lighter bags of stuff for gardening
redwood compost, potting soil, additives to condition your dirt
one must be careful to carry the pungent manures,
steer and more odiferous chicken at arm's-length
so you don't risk spending
the rest of your day
wearing a super smelly shirt

Nature Speaks Poesy
Nature Speaks Poetry
Flavoured with the softest zephyr, soaked into the finest dew,, served in flowered cup of the time,
spring comes to life again, waddling in the fields, dancing with growing greens bending its shoulder
to nod assent to every willing poet.....i come entranced to bow silently to this celestial eternity,
try to pour my heart, my feelings like a liquid love into honeyed words.
i am enchanted, ever again and more inebriated,,, the perfume souvenirs come alive,
with every daisy blooming; with every beak chirping, with...

Gifts Of Life
Not awaken while living
To the silent breath flowing
To the mystery of hearing
To the wonder of seeing
Not awaken while living
To the divine weight of giving
To the hidden Hands us holding
To the heavenly call “Live with meaning”
Not awaken while living
To how fragile life is and fleeting
To how precious God’s many a blessing
To His Grace and Mercy we are witnessing
When deeply shaken
As life suddenly taken
Aware to be mistaken
The heart, to see would be able
How we are gently held...

Singing in the Rain of Tears
Miranda
Fruits crown her laughter,
Rhythms bloom in vibrant hues
Carmen sways through life.
Sumak
Voice of mountains soar,
Ancient echoes fill the air
Yma's song transcends.
Maria
Voice like a tempest,
Passion pierces through the soul
Callas reigns supreme.
Rodrigues
Fado’s voice takes flight,
Soulful tides of sorrow swell
Amália endures.
Berberian
Avant-garde takes flight,
Cathy's voice bends worlds to art
Boundless, bold,...

Not another damn love poem { eye roll }
The last thing that I was expecting
The very last damn thing that I needed
was another fire started in my heart
giving me a reason to write another damn love poem
but damn you were persistent
your persistence has succeeded
I can't ignore the chemistry here
despite my best efforts to fight it and let it seep in
and under my skin
I was learning to be ok on my own
In fact, I was beginning to enjoy it
I was done putting myself out there
Done letting motherfuckas have their fun with me
NO NEW FRIENDS
I was done letting...

Suburban Huck Finn -1
Three blocks from my childhood home
runs Los Alamitos Creek
a sylvatic, kids paradise
the shoreline choked
with stands of twenty-five foot bamboo.
punctuated by large sycamores
one with a tire swing attached
wearing cut-off jeans
we'd sail over the seven-foot, ice cold swim'n hole
with a woooo hooo we'd let go.
along the shallows
crawdad and minnow fishing
was the sport of choice
strictly catch and release
the water was tainted with quicksilver, mercury
so what we caught we couldn't eat.

Pontiac Safari: Second Owner
Summoned by Grandma
to her Redding, CA home
for a visit and heartbreaking task
asked to assume ownership
of Grandpa's prized possession
his precious ‘72 Pontiac
though I needed the ride
the sad circumstances
wounded Grandad's pride
and truly tore me up inside
feeling like his jailer
Imprisoning him
in his double wide trailer.
I drove that beautiful, twenty foot,
golden, barge-like wagon
for at least five years.
with it's space age, curved rear window
seating capacity
for a maximum of 10 friends ...

The flight of love
They say that we all will have to learn how much our love truly matters, to us in ways that will shake us to very core of our soul. But yet it's important to remember that it's hard enough, to find that someone who gets us in ways that we can never, forget about the real deepness of the truth of our life and love. For sure we will have some disagreements and agreements, as this is life only to test your strength and perseverance. To the truth of how much you and I need and want, each other to inspire us and complete, us as one flame 🔥 that was meant to be together. as a flight...
