some years ago
i spent my nights
watching Archive
"Live in Athens"
Their music is
sad & desolate
a refuge in my
darkest nights
it saved my life
in 2023 Archive
had a gig here
yet in that time
i went from one
crisis to another
it wasn't doable
together with my
support worker &
some practicing
a try-out concert
i got a rain check
February the 16th
i saw them live for
the first time after

a dreamy poem
A dreamy poem
Last night and half asleep I wrote a poem
About love not expressed but understood
A sad story of two unhappy people
Both unhappily married to someone else
I spoke the poem into the night
It sounded emotional and I cried a little
In the morning, the night poem was forgotten
I was too lazy to try to recreate its mood

Looking Back in the Future
Looking back
at some point in time
Trump will no longer be president
and I'll no longer be a teacher
Sundays destroyed by grading, planning, and fear
Looking back,
at some point in time
I'll sadly remember
how I cried every night for weeks
after my cat died
and comfort myself
with the new cat I'll have gotten
Looking back
at some point in time,
I'll remember how long I stayed in shock
after my mom's death
and finally let myself
feel all the pain
and be okay with it

a spring poem
A spring poem
I try to write a poem since it is the first of Mars
The spring sun was looking huge, but not for long
A black cloud bigger than the sun muscled in
Stop! You are trying to write a poem, not tell us
About the weather, but since you are at it did
the cloud shed cold rain
I can’t say, I was indoors in my bedroom looking out
a poet never arises before noon

Just Catching Up/Do Dead People Pray?
Mama,
It’s been a long time since I’ve written, but you are, in fact, a spectator. So you see everything, but you know me. I have to put it all down on paper, and then give it to others because some days it’s the only proof I have that I am anywhere at all.
My body is a locked jaw, grinding teeth to dust, and it’s all to keep something inside. I’m uncertain what will tumble out if I let it all go. Will it have teeth, claws, and green and yellow froth coming from its mouth? Or will it fall to the ground, its mummified parts turning to dust after eons in darkness?

con-verse-ly complex
the waves of these waters cresting white
caught in the beauty of rising tide
cascade
we are more than our nocturnal wandering
more than our creaking bones
more than the blood singing through our veins
we are ancient new-borns
eyes barely open on a new day
new dawn
& we wander these moonlit paths
beasts seeking sanctuary
succor & tranquility
with thunder rumbling through our souls
lightning flaring from hungry tongues
calling through rivers & streams
kindred spirit beckoning home ...

She Stands Alone, Yet Never Alone
Alone I stand in Miami,
One-bedroom dreams, a downsize from a life I once knew.
Four-bedroom echoes still whisper in my mind,
But here...here, I am free.
The ocean hums my name like it’s always known me,
Like it’s been waiting for me to wake up.
Sunrise kisses the waves like they belong together,
Like they’ve never known separation
And I wonder, is that what I’m learning?
To belong to myself, fully.
To trust that even when I feel alone,
I am exactly where I am meant to be.
Dreams I once scribbled in secret
Became my...

stage fright
Stage Fright
This has been a long Sunday it started off with two toasts with cheese and the glucose rose to stratospheric, insulin is needed where the heck
Is the bloody needle, mlg if you please followed by a thundering heart and unwanted anxiety, I have tried to overcome for over 60 years
In my younger days, I tried to overcome my nerves by drinking whisky as a calmer which made me annoyed with anxiety-riddled myself
My wish was and still is to be a brave person, who is able to express himself with confidence But, no deal baby, I ended up alone in a room
It is not...

looking down
looking down her top
she is shorter than i am
does that make me wrong?
chasing my dreams
i'm chasing my dreams
though i may never catch her
i will keep running

TODAY!!!
Yell and scream today
Let everyone know you're alive
Let everybody know you care
Today is a great day
to hoot and holler
at the top of your lungs
Be heard
Say hello to the world
Today we're alive
Let it be known 😜
