She sends me photos of people I don’t know, not one or two but too many; why should I take any interest in people smiling at the camera
What is flabbergasting is why does she sends me photos of friends she has on another continent, from a place I do not wish to know
She is a tiring person into healthy things, tea drinking, and beneficial cacao from a plant in Burma, either that or she has few real friends
We read of a mountain village where dwellers have learned to live in peace with bears that roam the streets after dark, looking for sweet food

Racism
Two men broke into a shop, one is white, the other is African, as we cannot say black because that is a racist slur
The pair was caught and sent before a magistrate. The white guy was sentenced to two years in jail. Being white, he was seen as privileged, although he was a poor working-class
The man referred to as an African got a lighter sentence mainly because he came from people who had suffered at the hands of whites. Those who administer the law failed to see how deeply racist they are against the black population

uncanny & delightful

it's the little things
ya know...
details others miss
but not him
he knows the sound of my cough
...when it's normal
just my asthma acting up
& when it's...different
never let's it pass unnoticed
I don't like the sound of that
to him it's very evident
when I'm not quite...solid
struggling to process
maybe it's just that I'm too quiet
I don't know what it is
somehow he knows when something's amiss
invariably...he reaches out
calming my mind
telling me to take my time ...

She Rises
With spirit and determination
Her lifeforce spread like fire
Every single feather - a blaze
A wingspan more than what anyone could ever measure
A rite of rebirth and regeneration
Baptized in flames
And us poets
With glassy eyes witness
How she rises
A reawakening from beyond this realm
How the words spoken
Can help heal those of us who are broken
As a testament
Leaving behind a legacy

Journey's End
In the three and a half years I've been on this site
I've gone from writing a poem or so a month
to several a week
I've gone from writing mainly fiction and narrative
to thinking in stanzas and senryu
I've gone from interacting mainly with local writers
to knowing fascinating and talented writers from around the world
I've had a place to be inspired and entertained
to write with abandon,
and be unrestrained
It's been a good ride.
Thank you all.

Goodbye and Farewell
I want to post my last little rambling
My goodbye to a beautiful community,
Thank you for helping me grow and flourish,
My words flow more easily now
and my mind is a little calmer,
and I appreciate the beauty in a thought , a moment, a poem,
I found a new home over at AP
I kept my name my photo, I don't want to fade
And I shall look for all my favorites there

The last voyage of the ship, the D.U.P.
Has been given a deadline to meet its fate
But in the meantime everyone gets together
Its members come aboard to celebrate
In the engine room the rhymers are rhyming
Spittin’ unforgettable fire like writing memoirs
Saying their farewells to this magical place
Like catching shooting stars in verses and bars
In some dark corners the erotics are still spilling
Titillating and tantalizing making readers sweat
With palpable deliveries amidst the festivities
Their torrid intense...

A brief visit
I sat trying to write
A poem of love
