GIFT of LOVE
Regardless of our faith, in Love we can believe,
For Love's within us all, if we choose to retrieve.
Should we choose to leave Love in a dormant state,
Then we invite into our heart the bitterness of hate.
For those who believe within the powers of Love,
Radiate and spread around all the beauty thereof.
Those who deny Love to flourish within their heart,
Spread misery around, since it's all they can impart.
We have all been blessed with the greatest Gift,
Though some choose to away from Love, drift. ...

What Matters
I may not have riches
Or a big fancy house
I don't have a flashy car
Or nice things you can live without
I don't have gifts or talents
Or wisdom I can share with anyone
I'm way past my prime
Not that I even ever had one
I don't have much in this world
Or anything I could even give
But I have everything in this world
Which are the reasons I live
My wife is so amazing
Supportive and always there for me
She is a blessing
And full of love unconditionally
She always...

Kaddish for Allen Ginsberg's 27th DeathDay
5/30
Twenty-seven years now, Allen,
since I last saw you in Altus, Arkansas,
waltzing with Garcia Lorca down the aisles
amongst the watermelons
of the Circle M convenience store,
watching you glance slyly at
old Walt Whitman ogling
the check-out boy
at the counter,
apple-cheeked and angel-haired
how did you know he was
Caravaggio's Cecco,
reborn just to grin
winsomely at you
as the Bradford Pears began ...

Slow Burn .
Slow hands slow walks slow smiles and slow considered words spoken with thoughtfulness. How slow time works. How you see everything it's not just a flash in the pan. How you can see the stars hung as a serenade of heaven's backdrop to be a supporting act to a chorus of stars and the black hole of mediocrity just the same and take it not being swept away to much by either. How you don't get too carried away in your own dreams and all your sacrifices and not face the reality of a world which is made of more than you and I want . It’s you and I a two who learns the formula of one plus one...

Summer Solstice
I sip my coffee slowly
As I’m watching the waves crash
Here on a picnic bench, out by the beach
With eggs and hash
Got up before my wife
I left her sleeping in our bed
I’m doing what I love
Walking the streets, clearing my head
I made it to my breakfast stop
Before they opened up
They quickly made my order
My name scribbled on a cup
I decided to not wake her
She is usually by my side
But not today, woke up afraid
All these questions cloud my mind
Did I reach my full potential?

...as love
opaqued over
her obsidian pillar did love
manifest
condensing miles into moments
pausing time
drawing spirit & mind
intertwining into a single breath
monumental
in sheer movement
shared in a hemisphere of kindredness
of inexplicable familiarity
did love drape
fold..mold
and steadied itself

HAMMOCK STRINGS (4-17-1994; Galveston Island Texas)n a
spring birds sing
wind chimes ring
a sleepy breeze
comes over me
as i cocoon myself away
so effortlessly disconnected
from timeless hours
especially when
i need to most
now peacefully cradled
so weightlessly away
i drift suspended
in all these tranquil
hammock strings
which have recently
become
a sudden
healing necessity
in my life
especially when
i need them most

i remember how
you lingered in my periphery
an exquisite dame indeed
with a soft ember wafting from your soul
seducing my sub-conscious..
with a nurturing verbiage
draped in never-before-seen footage
rekindling a sacred relic
that something absent in the-man-eye
nursing my blind spots
slow burning my spirit kettle...
making me hot under blue collared mannerisms
with your kindred flame
like a benign seductress...

for J.C. ( not Jesus Christ)
you grew up a good
Catholic boy
Mass, communion,
the rosary, the Virgin
Mary on Sundays
but your love of all
those holy sacraments
and saints changed when
you found dope could
fuck you better than any
high school cheerleader
and your words curled up from
the page like smoke from
a junkies cigarette
from sports to addict
to prose to poetry to
rock star
I watched a YouTube
of you reciting your
poems at St....

It’s Time
Someone here said it perfectly
“Grief and loss
Get more attention than joy”
I no longer want to be guilty
Of giving grief more of my time
Than it deserves
It’s about time for me
To pull my head
Out of my ass
Stop wallowing
And get on
With the business
Of living
And loving again
I could concentrate
On the pain
But I’d rather
Pay attention

William Windsor: the bone idle racist, white supremacist and quite witless heir!
By Stanley Collymore
Essentially, William is just as work
shy, bone idle but undoubtedly
self-entitled, as the rest of
them. Quite so in fact, that it wouldn't
surprise me in the least, if this simply
discernibly inured white supremacist
racist, essentially thinks that manual
labour is distinctly obviously, literally
undoubtedly, an immigrant to Britain
Spanish waiter. My natural solution?
Make him monarch; and effortlessly
sit back, as the Republicans then do
their thing; as they essentially did in
1649, with...

The Heart I Can’t Let Go
I know when I am in my head
Stare blankly at the wall
I look but do not focus
Don’t see anything at all
My mind it drifts farther away
And so I let it go
I wonder where it takes me to
A place that I well know
I feel it coming on this time
Although there is no why
Emotions that I’m so scared of
My thoughts and hopes to die
It’s like a runaway train
And I feel I’ve lost control
There’s nothing of my life left now
I’m thrown into this soul
For a moment I forget them all
My husband and the...
