Idiot savants
Go and gather up the known affiliates.
We're gonna build a village of idiots.
We gotta make sure this gets crazy.
"Getting out of hand" to me is just lazy.
Had our fill of tastless "pain et cirque".
Contorting dough into a shape won't work.
Hunting down cerebral stimuli.
We got the time to kill but it won't die.
Gonna paint this town the bloodiest of red.
A thin veneer of all the living dead.
Choking to death on the lives they've led.
Infected by the many lies wide-spread.
Blunt force persuasion you beg us to...

Shedding our textiles — with Adagio
Virgin husk, masking nothing but regard
Modest skin, curves like whispers
Wordless idle; endowment in flair
Nude lines no linens shall veil
And in silence, inuendoes have failed
Modesty has but our wings to sail
Shedding our textiles to prevail

Wordless idle; endowment in flair
Nude lines no linens shall veil
And in silence, inuendoes have failed

Shedding our textiles to prevail

freaky...
my mind
was carrying
his weight for a year...
today I freed it
fucked his thoughts n gave myself
pleasure in my own company...
n it was like
Red roses bloomed
in the dry black meadow...
was carrying
his weight for a year...
today I freed it
fucked his thoughts n gave myself
pleasure in my own company...
n it was like
Red roses bloomed

Poetry is Therapy
Poetry is my therapy!
Without you, I don’t know where I’d be.
The Pen is my therapist,
I let you in my mind where all my thoughts exist.
You don’t have any degrees,
nor doctorates,
But for the price of your sessions,
I must insist!
You’re my nonviolent outlet that helps me cope with life’s anxieties.
You help me understand my feelings when I deal with life’s tragedies!
You let me get things off my chest
when best
for everyone involved,
To keep it close to the vest,
when silence lets the problem be solved.
It’s...

his preferred voice ..
de la mare wrote poems in a style more prevalent
in his youth or before even

that was his choice

Fireflies in jars
I don't want fireflies in jars
to entertain me for hours;
beautifying my night
with their sparkling light,
Dispelling darkness for me
while their souls aren't free;
bringing in magical dreams
through their soft soothing beams.
These pretty luminous things
are meant to measure world
with their wings...

beautifying my night

Dispelling darkness for me
while their souls aren't free;

Her Shadow
Living as a shade of her,
Surviving in the shining light,
Stuck on these walls, these floors,
Tired from following her commands,
Trailing in silence
As if I lack a mind of my own.
When she sleeps, I fade away,
Waiting for her to breathe life into me,
I envy her for having a soul, a body,
I need them to be mine
Wishing to possess her,
To break free from these confines.
Surviving in the shining light,
Stuck on these walls, these floors,
Tired from following her commands,
Trailing in silence
As if I lack a mind of my own.
When she sleeps, I fade away,
Waiting for her to breathe life into me,

America Is Weeping
America...
A nation once united is now divided
With a presidential election still undecided
Claims that it was rigged are reigning high
The coronavirus cases are still climbing
To a hefty million of them nation wide
It's plain to see America is weeping and
Longing for some peace and stability
Or perhaps just the return to normalcy
Remembering all the while we're still free
No masks for some nor social distancing
Could they be the simple
cause of the spread of the disease
With 245k deaths...

Scrap Paper
I have thought a great deal
about the freedom of
writing,
drawing
doodling
on cheap newsprint.
A disposable medium.
For practice.
The safety,
the permission
it gives to experiment.
Without fear of failure,
criticism
exposing too much of yourself.
Thoughts made permanent
in
a precious notebook.
Available to judgmental eyes,
even if they are just your own.
