unexplored paths
there's something about backroads
backwoods
hidden trails
they call to the nomad in me
inspiring wanderlust
always chasing the latest mystery
you can only see so much on the main
you have to step off
meander down overgrown lanes
ducking through tangles
those low hanging branches
to crest the next rise
find a surprise
stumble upon one of nature's best kept secrets
she's full of them
blowing your mind & widening eyes
sometimes it's just a detour
not leading anywhere
but if I don't go
how will I...

Entitle(d)ment
Meanwhile in another (W)alternate universe...
And when the Great voice was heard over the loudspeakers
The declaration of a free society had been rightly proclaimed
So from the eccentric tycoon to the common job seeker
Money became an obsolete thing of dishonor and shame
In the cities everyone went into the streets to burn their bills
Stock had no more power or meaning from borrower to lender
For all across the globe leaders had picked up their quills
Making bartering and human kindness the new legal tender
And no matter the time...

Wildflower secrets.
My feral heart beating deep.
Saunters crazily.

Darin' Aaron
Little Aaron is circling the Barbed Wire Museum parking lot on his Big Wheel, hoping to find some younger kids to run over. His parents are informing a bored couple that it's their fourth annual visit. Barb, Aaron's four-year-old sister, picks her nose, wipes it on her shorts, and hums a rap song.
Aaron graduates to a full-sized bike at seven. Out of sight of his parents, he favors bumping his way down flights of stairs, pedaling at warp speed, and flying over small obstacles like puddles and poodles. In a grocery store parking lot near home one day, he lifts his black Schwinn...

Fool's Gold
we all just
so digital
swimming in our phones
walking in our laptops
sleeping with our tablets
eyes deep in
thoughts arrested
make believe beauty
fairytale adventures
all at the touch
of your finger
grab a bag o'chips
and sit on down
where we going today...

Freedom to Love
Born into the world with only our souls
and we'll leave this life with only its content
Our naked bodies are complete and whole
with everything we need from beginning to end
Untainted, unbroken, sinfully naive
Our minds and hearts are free of despair
Unconsciously demanding of our own needs
with an awakening desire to receive loving care
We are free to love, but have lost our way
in this world where dreams are crushed by expectation
Expectations of being what others see
when we are already all we need to...
and we'll leave this life with only its content
Our naked bodies are complete and whole
with everything we need from beginning to end
Untainted, unbroken, sinfully naive
Our minds and hearts are free of despair
Unconsciously demanding of our own needs
with an awakening desire to receive loving care
We are free to love, but have lost our way
in this world where dreams are crushed by expectation

freaky...
my mind
was carrying
his weight for a year...
today I freed it
fucked his thoughts n gave myself
pleasure in my own company...
n it was like
Red roses bloomed
in the dry black meadow...
was carrying
his weight for a year...
today I freed it
fucked his thoughts n gave myself
pleasure in my own company...

a moment of harmony (lyrics)
Verse]
The water calls to me
there's a cold breeze on my face
and sand in my shoes
in the unhurried slide
down a sand dune
[Verse 2]
The sky looks like
it could go on forever
and I take in
the wonder of the
clear blue
[Verse 3]
I feel so small
so humbled
by the harsh crash of waves
and how beautiful
how merciless
the ocean can be
[Chorus]
I could be a grain of sand
or a sea star
washed up on this beach
drawn here by the waters
that...

Awake
Uncertain in the distance sounds the trumpeter
Summons to shadow war calling
The Praetorian guard plays king maker
The Republic has fallen
Failed assassinations, and palace coups
A royal game of thrones
The captain of the Pretorian guard is removed
Kabuki theater honed
Knife fighting deep in the heart of darkness
A more civil war brings
Lies, deceit, betrayal, and all the people said
The king is dead, long live the king
And yet, who shall that king be...
Change swirls hot in the air
Uncertain, unsettled,...
