unexplored paths
there's something about backroads
backwoods
hidden trails
they call to the nomad in me
inspiring wanderlust
always chasing the latest mystery
you can only see so much on the main
you have to step off
meander down overgrown lanes
ducking through tangles
those low hanging branches
to crest the next rise
find a surprise
stumble upon one of nature's best kept secrets
she's full of them
blowing your mind & widening eyes
sometimes it's just a detour
not leading anywhere
but if I don't go
how will I know
at least I explored
it leads to a need
for more
yeah
I'm an off the map kinda gal
just me & my feet
hunting the unknown

I really enjoyed your poem. The idea of just wandering and appreciating the hidden trails and back roads with their hidden wonders and lovely surprises are sparking quite a bit of peace for me. This is a great reminder to try different things and not just stay with the usual all the time. Wonderful write.

I absolutely love and resonate with this so much. When I was a photographer, I used to rise early Sunday mornings if I had no shoots and take off to unknown destinations. Abandoned buildings were my favorite. Their energy was thick with history.

Omg, I regularly stalk urbex sites and love abandoned buildings. The secret stories there are haunted and beautiful. I have asthma so I can't enjoy those sites in person, but I love the energy in photos. Thank you so much, Ahavati! 😊
